Meet Katie Lee of Coffee Haven

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Lee.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Shortly after I graduated college, I got a job in the coffee industry and fell in love with it. The art and community that surrounds it is truly amazing. Not long after, an opportunity was presented to me to open and operate my own shop. I knew that it was a passion and opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. It has taken a village, a lot of faith, dedication and hard work to get where I am- but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been far from a smooth road, if I’ve learned anything from owning a business it’s that you never know what challenges you will face- but you have to face them head on as they come. One of our main obstacles we’ve dealt with and have felt the pressure of is, supply cost increases. This is a constant thing we are having to navigate in the economy today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Coffee Haven is a locally owned coffee shop. We specialize in coffee and offer a wide variety of drinks such as, smoothies, teas, chai, matcha etc. We promise there is something for everyone on our menu. Coffee + kindness is our tagline and we never miss an opportunity to make sure our customers feel seen and cared for. We are known for highlighting monthly drink specials and offering unique and fun drink flavors. We have a drive thru and walk in option, along with mobile ordering.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
There is always a solution and everything is “figureoutable”. I spent the first few years of business letting the little things get the best of me when it didn’t work out or go as planned. I’ve learned that rarely do things go as planned and I’ve gotten good at being flexible and adapting when necessary.
