Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey And Codey (Twin Partners) Yingling.
Hi Casey and Codey (Twin Partners), thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We grew up very competitive in academics and sports. We always strived to be the best at everything we did. For a long time our dream was to become professional baseball players, with myself as the catcher and Casey as the pitcher. This was the case all the way through college.
The Lord and injuries halted that dream. It was hard at first, but thankfully, as men of faith we decided to put or trust in God for our future. We continued college and majored in Finance and Accounting, which led us to a Big Four accounting firm. We were there for a short while, but we knew something was missing. We knew this was not our future. We wanted more.
As young men, we did not fully understand the entrepreneurial spirit God had instilled in us. We decided, and felt called, to step out of the accounting industry and into the field of construction. After several years of “figuring it out” we landed ourselves a job as superintendents for a custom home builder. This was some of the best experience we could’ve ever received. This gave us a huge leg up in the construction industry, seeing it from the ground up all the way through to completion. This allowed us the opportunity to make some great relationships in the field along with other great business leaders.
We started seeing great needs arise in the window and door industry. We wanted to meet that need and grow our own company. We took a step of faith into the unknown world of starting and running our own business. This started out as the two of us running around with a single pick up truck and a ladder rack installing windows for anyone anywhere we could. Our goal early on was to say yes to everything, whether we knew how to or not, the answer was yes. The reason for this confidence was simple…we were resourceful; a skill we had developed as superintendents. This gave us a very competitive edge right out the gate competing with the best of them. We knew that in order to become great, we had to become subject matter experts learning anything and everything about windows, sliders, and doors from every brand, installation techniques, waterproofing styles, and not just chasing the next easy dollar going after one type of window. We pride ourselves on how far we’ve come in just 3 short years; three trailers, 6 full time installers, an office space, and an office admin.
As Christian brothers and entrepreneurs, our desire is to build a company that makes an impact not just in our own community but most importantly to advance the Kingdom of God.
How can we grow to give more, to be a generous company, and to meet the needs of our community? How can we create jobs and make an impact for our families and our community while staying Kingdom-minded in all that we do?
We want to know and live out the scripture of 2 Corinthians 3:17: “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM,” and Colossians 3:23: “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As most business owners can probably attest to, it has been anything but a smooth road. Trying to nudge our way into an already crowded and saturated industry takes a lot of work and persistence. A whole lot of simply not giving up. We have had lots of challenges arise along with many employees come and go that make it hard to grow. But thankfully we have began to recruit some really key hires that are going to help us really start growing. Our goal is to hire top talent who are experts at what they do and leave them alone, to an extent that is. We still need our standards of excellence met on every job to ensure the Freedom touch. There are plenty of other hurdles that have made it challenging along the way but we just continue to lean on each other and keep moving forward until we get our way! We like to call that grit!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Freedom Windows & Doors is a residential and commercial window and door installation company serving Northeast Florida. We specialize in window and door replacement and new construction installation — the work that protects your home from Florida’s heat, storms, and humidity. And frankly most homeowners only want to do once. So we believe it’s worth doing right.
We’re a family-run business: my twin brother Casey and I own and operate it together, he runs operations and the field, I handle the customer side. That means when you hire us, you’re not getting passed off to a corporate number or a rotating crew of subcontractors. You’re getting the two people whose name is on the company.
What sets us apart?
Three things we’d stake our reputation on.
First, our workmanship. We back our installation with a three-year workmanship warranty — well beyond what’s standard in this trade — because we stand behind how the work is done, not just the product going in.
Second, how we install. The single most critical part of a window or door is the part you never see: the sealants. We use Tremco commercial setting materials with great manufacturer-backed warranties. Why is this important, because it means the waterproofing and weather sealing that actually keeps your home dry is held to a manufacturer standard, not left to chance. In a coastal Florida market, that detail is the difference between a window that performs for decades and one that leaks in five years.
Third, communication. We give every customer clear, defined timelines and we keep them informed proactively — not after they’ve had to call and ask. A renovation is disruptive enough; we work hard to make the experience predictable.
What are you most proud of, brand-wise?
Id have to say the company name. Freedom means something to us, and we’re building it to mean something to the people we serve. Our goal is that when people in Northeast Florida hear “Freedom Windows & Doors,” they immediately think high-end, quality installations done right.
We’re very early in that journey, but that’s what makes it all the more exciting. We’re not inheriting a reputation; we’re straight up earning it one job at a time. Every install is another chance to put more weight behind the name and prove that Freedom stands for a standard, not just a sign on a truck. Building that association — the name and quality becoming inseparable in people’s minds — is what we’re most proud to be working toward
What do you want readers to know?
If you’re a homeowner who cares about doing it right the first time — quality products, expert installation, and a team that actually communicates — we’d love to earn your trust.
How do you think about happiness?
The things that make us most happy is our families. We’re both married to amazing Godly women who support us every step of the way. I (Codey) now have 2 children; a 2 year old girl and a 3 month old boy. Casey has a 2 year old daughter as well and another little girl on the way. They are hands down the most exciting part of each and every day we get home. Because we leave so early every day, we don’t get to see them before leaving the house so we love coming home. Stressful days at work are quickly forgotten about. We truly feel incredibly blessed.
