Conversations with Lorri Lee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorri Lee.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Tricia’s Precious Gems is a women-owned, minority-owned custom gift and design company specializing in handcrafted, personalized products for businesses, organizations, special events, and individuals. Founded in 2019, the company is committed to creating affordable, high-quality custom designs while delivering exceptional customer service, quick turnaround times, and meaningful products that leave lasting impressions.

The inspiration behind Tricia’s Precious Gems comes from my mother, Patricia, whose love for fashion, creativity, and uniquely designed pieces helped shape the vision for the business. Following her passing from Metastatic Breast Cancer, I transformed my passion and my mother’s legacy into a thriving company that celebrates individuality, creativity, and meaningful connections.

What began as a tribute to my mother has evolved into something greater—a platform for breast cancer awareness and advocacy. Through our products, community involvement, and strategic partnerships, Tricia’s Precious Gems honors Patricia’s memory while supporting efforts to educate, inspire, and raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer.

Today, Tricia’s Precious Gems helps clients bring their ideas to life through personalized gifts, branded merchandise, promotional products, apparel, and custom creations designed to make every occasion memorable. At the heart of every design is a commitment to quality, purpose, and creating pieces that tell a story and leave a lasting impression.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As an entrepreneur, my journey has not always been easy. While there have been many rewarding moments, there have also been bumps along the way. There were times when I second-guessed myself and even considered giving up. However, I always remembered my “why”—the love for my mother, the legacy I wanted to honor, and the purpose behind Tricia’s Precious Gems. That purpose has continued to give me the strength, resilience, and determination to keep moving forward, turning challenges into opportunities for growth and inspiration.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently work as a Billing and Auditing Account Analyst in the Government Processing Department at Landstar Transportation Systems. One of my proudest accomplishments is my 11-year tenure with this incredible company. Throughout my career, I have valued the relationships I’ve built and the opportunities I’ve had to grow both personally and professionally.

At work, I am best known for my enthusiastic participation in our annual Corporate 5K Walk/Run events and company walking challenges. Although many employees now work remotely, these activities provide a meaningful way for colleagues to connect on a more personal level, encourage one another, and foster a sense of community and teamwork beyond our day-to-day responsibilities.

Participating in these wellness initiatives reflects my belief in the importance of balance, connection, and supporting others—values that I carry with me both in my professional career and as an entrepreneur.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice to those who are just starting out is to always remember your “why.” Whether you are launching a business, pursuing a career goal, or working toward something meaningful and impactful, your purpose should remain at the forefront of your mind throughout your journey. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but staying connected to the reason you started can provide the motivation, clarity, and resilience needed to keep moving forward. Your “why” becomes your foundation, guiding you through both the successes and the obstacles along the way.
