Check Out Mitchel Reynolds’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitchel Reynolds.

Hi Mitchel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m an Army veteran originally from the New York City area, and about four years ago I moved to Jacksonville with my family in search of a fresh start. Shortly after relocating, I discovered F45 and started as a part-time coach. I quickly developed a real passion for the community, which led me to leave my personal training job so I could fully invest in this opportunity. Since then, I’ve grown into the role of Head Coach and Studio Manager for River City, and I also support the broader network and region through athletic development for both coaches and members. What drives me most is helping people become the best versions of themselves, whether they’re staff or clients, and my goal is for everyone who walks into the studio to have a great experience and leave feeling 1% better than when they arrived.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but those challenges have helped shape me into the leader and coach I am today. Along the way, I’ve had to balance both personal and professional growth, including welcoming a second child, navigating leadership and staff changes, and learning how to adapt through different obstacles while continuing to grow in my role. There were moments that tested me, but staying focused, leaning on the support of my leadership team, coworkers, and community, and taking things one day at a time helped me push through and keep moving forward.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I do is lead as the Head Coach and Studio Manager for River City, while also supporting the broader network and region through athletic development for both coaches and members. My background is in personal training, and I specialize in helping people build confidence, improve performance, and create lasting healthy habits. I’m also certified in pre- and postnatal fitness, which has allowed me to support many of the women in our studio in a meaningful way. I think I’m most known for the energy, care, and consistency I bring to both the team and the member experience. What I’m most proud of is the growth I’ve had—from starting as a part-time coach to stepping into leadership—and the impact I’ve been able to make on both staff and clients along the way. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people, apply what I’ve learned in a practical way, and lead with both empathy and accountability. My experience teaching aspiring personal trainers also helped strengthen my communication skills and attention to detail, and those qualities continue to shape how I coach, lead, and serve others every day.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
One of the biggest things that has worked well for me is being intentional about the people I learn from and the relationships I build. When it comes to finding a mentor, I think it helps to look for someone who is a few steps ahead of where you are or in a position you hope to grow into over the next few years. For me, the best mentors have been people who not only had the experience I wanted to learn from, but who were also willing to invest their time, offer guidance, and provide honest feedback. As far as networking goes, I’ve found that it works best when you focus on building genuine relationships instead of just trying to make contacts. Whether it’s through partnerships, sharing resources, or simply supporting others, creating value in each connection has always led to the strongest opportunities and the most meaningful growth.
