Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Davy.
Hi Chris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well let’s start with the name. Fynn & Goose are two beautiful pups who accompanied my wife and I as we started our lives together and traveled the eastern US following my work as a travel nurse during, and shortly after the pandemic. There with us every step of the way, lapping up pup cups, and giving us the sense of family when everyone else was so far away. And me? Well, my name is Chris, joined by my wife Mackenzie, and we LOVE coffee.
During that period of travel, we tried some of the best, as well as some not so best, coffee places around. The service, the coffee, and the experience of the best coffee shops we ever hit along the way is what we dream about bringing to our customers.
We can recall the moments in time when we shared a special coffee in a special place. It sits somewhere in your soul, and tied to a core memory that you can look back on forever. This is why we feel so strongly about catering and special event coffee as we call it. We want to create an experience that will bind a special occasion, and all those in attendance to a moment in time that will last forever.
Our mission for Fynn & Goose Coffee is to provide exceptional service through coffee. Our vision is to develop a brand that would not only be successful but also capable of being generous. As a company inspired by our own pets we are inspired by those who treat all living beings with respect and dignity. We aim to grow to a place in which we can support animal rights, rescue, and rehabilitation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has certainly not been a smooth road, but with the road less traveled comes lessons of unforeseeable value. We started this concept on the dependance of a crowd funding campaign through Kickstarter. Needless to say that was our first lesson in perseverance through shortcomings. We in fact did not reach our $12,000 funding goal to start the cart. What we did however was make lasting connections through those who believed in us and did put support behind our vision.
After that we had to pivot, start small, set aside the idea of nice equipment and started serving what we could. Basic hot coffee and cold brew that we absolutely poured our heart into. Serving our first cups outside of tractor supply on Saturday mornings to supportive family, coworkers, and curious passers by.
The dream really started to come alive, and so did the elbow grease. We hadn’t really thought about just how hard it would be to run a coffee cart. Everything is heavy, and hot. Loading the cart in and out of markets with huge bottles of water, tents, and coffee makers became the new trial. Sometimes for as little as $100 in sales at a slow market. Again we persevered, dialed into special catered events that we could give our everything in return for a bit more reward.
We always looked at every obstacle as a learning opportunity.

At Fynn & Goose Coffee we provide a coffee experience that is tailored to the moment. We believe that coffee can be the center piece to a conversation, and the experience can leave a lasting impression on your guests, clients, or loved ones. What sets apart from other coffee carts is we believe whole hardily in the experience and that the experience starts from first contact to last sip. We are there with our clients from the first time they reach out, though details meetings, planning sessions, day of logistics, and follow up after the event.
Outside of catering, pop ups, and markets we are looking to expand into more partnerships with other businesses in Jacksonville. We are always trying to find local businesses to host our cart. All we need is a power outlet and a little space to bring a cafe. We love collaborating, increasing foot traffic, dwell time, and improving the experience anywhere we go.
Our brand is rooted in our love for coffee, and our passion for animals. In the last year we have helped raise money for the humane society, collected toy and food donations, and even served the hard working staff and volunteers of the Jacksonville Humane Society. Our success allows us to contribute to these important values.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I think people are always surprised when I tell them that in addition to running Fynn & Goose Coffee I am also a full time ER nurse. Maybe that’s why I love coffee so much, A lot of times when I am responding to client emails, troubleshooting crisis’, and planning events its between patients in the ER. Even sometimes working the night before events. I do hope that the success of Fynn & Goose Coffee allows me to dedicate more of my time to being with clients at events with our cart, but I am so proud of my nursing background and will always keep it in my life in one shape or another.
