Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Mixson.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Part of what pushed me to create The Mixson Method was the clear void in North Florida’s talent ecosystem. Producers and brands were constantly searching for well‑rounded male models, yet the pool here in Jacksonville was thin and underdeveloped. Female models needed more visibility too, but there wasn’t an agency in the area that leaned editorial while still understanding commercial versatility. I wanted to build what didn’t exist — a development‑driven agency that could elevate talent to a national standard.
A creative director I worked with early on noticed I had a natural eye for scouting, and that affirmation lit the spark. As I continued working with talent, it became obvious that Jacksonville lacked a true system for preparing models for real careers. That gap became the foundation of The Mixson Method.
Although my roots are in Jacksonville, my agency has never been limited to this market. Today, The Mixson Method represents talent nationally and internationally — from Italy to major U.S. markets — while still building a stronger, more intentional ecosystem here in North Florida. My goal has always been to raise the bar, expand opportunity, and create the kind of talent pool this region has never had, while ensuring our models are competitive on a global scale.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges in building The Mixson Method has been getting people to truly support an agency while they quietly watch from the sidelines. In the beginning, many were hesitant to commit, even though they were paying close attention to the work, the structure, and the results. That’s a common reality when you’re building something new in a market that isn’t used to this level of development or professionalism.
Still, the turning point has been the people who have taken notice — the ones who see the vision, trust the process, and put their faith in the business. Their belief has helped shift the perception of what a boutique agency can be, and slowly but surely, more talent and industry partners are recognizing the value of what we’re building. Growth has been steady, intentional, and earned.
We’ve been impressed with The Mixson Method , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Mixson Method is a boutique development‑driven mother agency built on the belief that talent deserves structure, clarity, and a real pathway into the industry. While I’m based in North Florida, my work has never been limited to this region. I represent talent nationally and internationally, blending editorial sensibilities with commercial readiness to create well‑rounded models who can compete in any market.
What makes my agency different is the emphasis on development. I don’t just sign talent — I build them. That includes runway literacy, posing fundamentals, communication standards, professionalism, and the mindset required to sustain a career. I created this agency because there was a clear gap in the ecosystem here: brands and producers needed stronger male talent, female models needed more visibility, and Jacksonville lacked an agency that could elevate talent to a global standard.
Today, The Mixson Method functions as both a mother agency and a training ground. My goal is to raise the bar for what talent from North Florida can achieve while continuing to expand a roster that reaches far beyond the local market. I’m building an ecosystem that didn’t exist here — one rooted in intention, discipline, and long‑term career strategy.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always observant, disciplined, and naturally drawn to structure. I paid attention to details most people overlooked — how people carried themselves, how they communicated, and the energy they brought into a room. I wasn’t loud or attention‑seeking; I was the one studying everything, understanding people, and noticing potential before others did.
I also had a strong creative side. I loved aesthetics, storytelling, and anything that involved shaping an experience or a visual. Even before I knew what scouting or development was, I had an instinct for identifying what made someone stand out and how they could elevate themselves.
Those early traits — being analytical, creative, and quietly confident — are the same qualities that shaped the way I lead The Mixson Method today. I’ve always been someone who sees what people can become, not just who they are in the moment.
