Meet Devon Eure of Jacksonville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devon Eure.

Hi Devon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I grew up in an urban environment in upstate New York before later moving to a rural town in Cheraw, South Carolina. Despite those very different settings, one thing remained constant—my family’s commitment to serving others, even when we didn’t have much ourselves.

Some of my earliest memories are of my parents cooking meals and giving them away in our community. We lived in the projects, and I remember people coming to our door while my mother and stepfather handed out plates of food free of charge. I saw the joy it brought to those receiving the meals, but what stayed with me the most was how fulfilled my parents looked. That experience planted a seed in me—a lasting desire to serve my community in meaningful ways.

At 17, I made the decision to join the United States Navy, and I was later deployed to Afghanistan. At the time, I felt a strong sense of purpose, serving my country, which I’ve always viewed as one large community.

After my time in the Navy and a brief first attempt at college, I moved back to New York, where I connected with a mentor who helped me see community service through a different lens—business ownership. Together, we built a community-based landscaping company. We bid on contracts to maintain parks in urban neighborhoods, but our mission went beyond maintaining green spaces.

We intentionally hired local teenagers and individuals who needed a second chance—people who often faced barriers to employment. At the same time, we reached out to nearby homeowners and renters, offering affordable landscaping services. Because we were already servicing the parks, we could extend our work into the surrounding neighborhoods, saving residents money while creating a more unified and well-maintained environment.

The goal was to create something bigger than a business. We wanted people to walk outside their homes and see their own neighbors working, contributing, and taking pride in improving the spaces they shared. It was about building opportunity, strengthening community ties, and showing that investment in people can transform entire neighborhoods.

Through all of these experiences, one thing has remained clear to me: service can take many forms. Whether it’s feeding families, serving in the military, or creating opportunities through business, it all comes down to the same purpose—uplifting others and leaving your community better than you found it.

I have always tried to help whenever I could—even in moments when I wasn’t sure I had the capacity—and I’ve made sacrifices to do so. Today, working with seniors through NCBA has given me another meaningful opportunity to serve. I see individuals who have spent their lives contributing, working, and building the foundation of the country we benefit from today, yet many of them are now facing challenges without the support they deserve.

That reality has strengthened my sense of responsibility. I believe it is up to my generation to give back to those who have given so much to us. Serving seniors is not just about assistance—it’s about respect, gratitude, and ensuring they are not overlooked. Being in a position to support them is something I take seriously, and it continues to shape my purpose and commitment to service.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No it has not, I have delt with issues of bad decisions, and have dealt with the learning lessons of how to get back on the right track.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a model, musician, and actor with professional experience in both modeling and acting. I was previously signed to an independent music label, and I hold a bachelor’s degree in Audio Production. Music has always been a central part of my life and creative identity.

Over the years, I’ve built a reputation in a number of different spaces. I’m recognized for my work in modeling and music, along with my experience in acting, which includes credited work. Beyond my professional pursuits, I’m also known for my personal journey—especially my experience as a single father for nearly a decade, which shaped my sense of responsibility, discipline, and purpose.

Earlier in life, particularly during my time in the Navy and my first experience in college, I was known for my outgoing and carefree personality. Those experiences, both positive and challenging, played a role in my growth and evolution into who I am today.

What truly sets me apart is my resilience and my willingness to learn. I am committed to continuous growth and self-improvement, and I approach every opportunity with determination. No matter the obstacles I face, I remain focused on achieving my goals and building a meaningful path forward. I am also known for some bad things in personal life where I’ve made terrible decisions.

What’s next?
I am also the founder of a nonprofit organization called Believe Universecity, which is focused on empowering children in urban communities. Through programs in music, modeling, and acting, we aim to help young people build confidence, discover their identity, and develop a sense of self at an early age.

The vision behind Believe Universecity is to create a safe and inspiring space where creativity becomes a tool for growth, expression, and opportunity. By exposing youth to the arts, we’re not only nurturing talent but also helping them see possibilities for their future that they may not have otherwise considered.

As the organization continues to grow, my goal is to fully immerse myself in this work and make it my primary focus. I am committed to expanding its reach and impact, ensuring that more young people have access to the resources, mentorship, and encouragement they need to believe in themselves and their potential.
