Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Wilder.
Hayley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a mom of two with a background in marketing. When the cost of childcare started eating into my salary to the point where it barely made sense to keep working, my husband encouraged me to take a leap of faith, quit my job and build something on my own.
So I did. I started my company and I named it Cherry Pie Branding House. I landed my first two social media management clients (both of whom are still with me today), and even though I was terrified, I kept showing up and trusting that things would work out. It did. Those early clients started referring me to others, and before long, one of them asked if I could build her a website. I said yes, figured it out, and delivered. When people saw it, they wanted one too.
I became a Wix Partner and the website side of my business took off. That work was recognized when I was awarded Folio Weekly’s Best of Jax for website design, an honor that meant a lot coming from my own community. Along the way, I also started digging into Google. I started taking courses, learning the tools, and figuring out how to actually help businesses show up online. Now I offer a full suite of digital services: social media management, website design, and Google Business Profile management.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I learned not to under price, not to trust everyone, and to value myself. I also learned it’s next to impossible to be a people pleaser and a business owner so I’ve had to learn to stand my ground.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do Website Design, Branding, Google Business Profile Management and Social Media Management with an emphasis on web design, thats my favorite and what I’m good at. I don’t like boring websites and I encourage people to be different and to be unique.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
In the business? For other businesses to show up online!! And I’m not just talking about on socials, I’m talking about Google Search Console, being on Google Business Profile, Bing, Yelp, on all maps, having a website with good SEO, etc.
