Hi Emily, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The military took Peter and I to Naples, Italy during the height of Covid. During the start of our journey there, lockdowns forced us to participate in wine tasting from our living room via Zoom and this is where Florida Vino Imports came to fruition. We decided to bring Italy home with us to share. After getting home to Florida, the adventure began and Ryan joined us with his passion for these wines and experience living in Italy as well-we military folks are a tight nit family.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Having a dream and making it a reality are two very different things. With Peter’s attention to detail, the legal process of getting licensure was achieved and marketing began. Some may view being a small importer/distributor as an obstacle , but we have found that being unique drives our allure to our wines. One challenge that has been very satisfying to overcome is educating Americans on the different types of Italian wines and how they are there to complement different types of foods.
