Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Rodriguez Cintron.
Hi Alexis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I developed a strong sense of community, hard work, and the importance of helping others. I later moved to Florida and began my career in healthcare, working as a Registered Nurse in the emergency room. That experience shaped who I am today—it taught me how to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and truly care for people during some of the most important moments in their lives.
Over time, I realized that I wanted to expand that same level of care and service into another area—real estate. Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest decisions someone can make, and I wanted to be the person guiding clients through that process with honesty, patience, and dedication.
Today, I’m a Realtor serving Ocala, Gainesville, and the North Central Florida area. I work with buyers, sellers, and especially clients relocating from places like Puerto Rico to Florida, helping make their transition as smooth as possible. I bring a unique perspective to real estate by combining my healthcare background with my passion for helping families find not just a house, but a place they can truly call home.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many people transitioning into a new career, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was stepping into real estate while still working full-time as an ER nurse. Balancing long shifts with building a business from the ground up required discipline, time management, and a lot of persistence.
Another challenge was navigating the early stages without having a strong local mentorship system. That forced me to become very proactive—seeking out education, learning contracts, understanding the market, and building systems on my own. While that was difficult at times, it ultimately made me more independent, resourceful, and confident in my abilities.
Coming from Puerto Rico and building a career in a new environment also came with its own learning curve, especially adapting to a new market and expanding my network. However, those challenges helped me connect better with clients who are relocating and going through similar transitions.
Overall, every obstacle has helped shape me into a more dedicated and resilient professional, and I believe those experiences allow me to better guide and support my clients today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room while also building my career as a real estate agent with eXp Realty, serving Gainesville, Ocala, and the North Central Florida area.
In the ER, I specialize in fast-paced, high-pressure situations where critical thinking, quick decision-making, and compassion are essential. This experience has shaped who I am professionally and has given me a strong foundation in communication, trust, and attention to detail.
In real estate, I focus on helping buyers, sellers, and especially relocation clients navigate the process with confidence. I take pride in making what can be a stressful experience feel smooth and well-guided. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals and families moving to Florida, including those coming from Puerto Rico, because I understand the challenges of starting fresh in a new place.
What sets me apart is my background in healthcare. I approach real estate the same way I approach patient care—with empathy, honesty, and a strong commitment to doing what is best for the person in front of me. My clients know they can rely on me to be responsive, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in their goals.
I’m most proud of being able to balance both careers while continuing to grow and improve in each. For me, success is not just about transactions or outcomes—it’s about the relationships I build and the trust I earn along the way.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is being able to make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s in the Emergency Room or through real estate, I enjoy helping people during important moments—when they need guidance, support, or someone they can trust.
In nursing, that means being there for patients and their families during stressful or critical situations. In real estate, it means helping clients find a place they can truly call home. Knowing that I played a role in making those moments easier or more positive is what gives me the most fulfillment.
I also find happiness in growth—both personally and professionally. Balancing two careers has challenged me, but it has also pushed me to become more disciplined, focused, and driven.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and building a life here in Florida. Coming from Puerto Rico, I value family, community, and creating stability, and that continues to motivate me every day.
