Meet Christina Burns of DeCicco’s Pizzeria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Burns.

Hi Christina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, we developed a deep appreciation for exceptional food amidst a vibrant array of dining options, something we miss dearly from our old neighborhood. Since moving to Florida in 2014, we’ve discovered several beloved mom-and-pop eateries that evoke that same comforting, homey feel. Drawing inspiration from these experiences and our own five-year journey running a family pizzeria, we’re thrilled to embark on a new venture. As a small, family-owned business, we’re dedicated to crafting a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels right at home from the moment they walk through our doors.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If we said it was a smooth road, I’d be lying. There have been challenges from rising costs to the pressure of building something from the ground up, but those moments are what define you. We’ve learned to adapt quickly, stay resilient, and keep showing up every day. The support from our community has been incredible, and that’s what keeps us going

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about DeCicco’s Pizzeria?
DeCicco’s Pizzeria is a small, family owned pizzeria bringing authentic New York style pizza to our community. We specialize in classic recipes done right. Thin, crispy crust, quality ingredients, and dishes made fresh to order. Along with our pizzas, we’re known for our pasta dishes, garlic knots, and signature items like our Grandma pies and buffalo chicken pinwheels.

What truly sets us apart is the heart behind the business. We’re involved in every part of it, from the kitchen to customer service, and we treat our customers like family. We’ve built our brand on consistency, honesty, and a genuine appreciation for the people who walk through our doors.

What we’re most proud of is the connection we’ve created with our community. The support, the repeat customers, and the relationships we’ve built mean more than anything. We’re also incredibly grateful for the team we have. They show up, work hard, and take pride in what they do, creating a positive environment for everyone. We want readers to know that this isn’t just a business to us; it’s something we’ve poured ourselves into, and it shows in everything we do.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
To be honest, a lot of what’s helped us the most has come from real life experience being in the business every day and continuing to learn more as we go. We also enjoy watching videos and content from other business owners who’ve been through it and have real experience. Seeing how they’ve handled challenges, grown their brands, and stayed consistent is both motivating and educational.

We’ve picked up a lot over time about adapting, managing the day to day, and thinking long term, but at the end of the day, nothing replaces the hands on experience and staying connected to your customers that’s been the biggest resource for us.
