Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Crawford.
Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story has unfolded through a series of obedient steps, moments of courage, and seasons where I had to trust God without having all the answers.
I started out serving in ministry with a sincere love for people and a deep passion for the Word of God. Even while working in my professional career in HR and recruitment, I always felt the call to serve, teach, and create. Over time, that calling grew stronger, and I began to lean more into ministry, leadership, and pouring into people.
A major part of my journey has been my involvement with Elijah Bible Institute. What began as me being a student eventually grew into something much bigger. I moved from student to instructor, and later stepped into executive leadership. Today, I serve as the President of EBI, and that role has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life. My heart is to help people grow in the Word, discover their purpose, and be equipped for real ministry. Through EBI, I’ve been able to help build systems, develop instructors, strengthen programs, and create an environment where students can grow spiritually, academically, and personally.
EBI isn’t just a school to me but it’s a place where lives are transformed. We focus on sound teaching, spiritual growth, and practical ministry preparation. I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with our Chancellor, David E. Howell Sr, and be part of shaping its structure, expanding its reach, supporting students, and building a foundation for long-term growth. Seeing students gain confidence, clarity, and deeper understanding of God’s Word is one of the greatest rewards of this work.
Alongside my ministry and leadership work, I also embraced my creative and entrepreneurial side. I built businesses, stepped into photography, design, and other creative ventures, and used those gifts as a way to serve and inspire others. I’ve learned that creativity, ministry, and leadership can all work together when they’re aligned with purpose.
Then came a defining moment when God led me to step away from my professional career and fully trust Him in a new season. It wasn’t easy, and there were moments of fear and uncertainty. But that step of faith opened the door for me to walk more fully in my calling, especially through the work I do at EBI.
Today, I’m walking in purpose; leading, building, teaching, and creating. My journey hasn’t been perfect or easy, but every step has shaped me. And while I’m grateful for where I am now, I know this is only the beginning. God is still writing my story, and I’m committed to walking out every part of it with faith and obedience.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been moments of uncertainty, stretching, and even seasons where I questioned myself. One of the biggest struggles was learning to let go of control. For a long time, I thought trusting God meant believing in Him while still trying to manage everything myself. But this journey forced me to truly release control and depend on Him in ways I never had before.
Leaving the comfort and stability of my career was not easy. Walking away from something familiar, without having a clear plan or a guaranteed next step, was uncomfortable and, at times, scary. There were financial concerns, questions about timing, and moments where I wondered if I was making the right decision. But every step required faith.
Balancing ministry, leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal life has also been a challenge. Building something from the ground up, whether it’s ministry, business, or creative work, requires time, consistency, and sacrifice. There were seasons where I felt stretched thin, misunderstood, or unsure of how everything would come together.
Another struggle was navigating leadership, learning how to make tough decisions, how to carry vision responsibly, and how to lead people while still growing myself. Leadership can be heavy, and there were times where I had to learn hard lessons about boundaries, communication, and resilience.
Even with the struggles, every challenge has shaped me. Each obstacle stretched my faith, refined my character, and taught me to lean on God more deeply. Looking back, I see that the difficult seasons weren’t setbacks, they were preparation for where I am today and where God is taking me next.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The work I do sits at the intersection of ministry, leadership, and creativity. I serve as the President for Elijah Bible Institute, a faith-based educational space, where I help shape vision, build structure, and create systems that support both students and instructors. I’m deeply passionate about helping people grow spiritually, discover their purpose, and walk confidently in who God created them to be.
Beyond ministry and education, I’m also an entrepreneur and creative. I run businesses that allow me to express creativity through photography, design, and custom products. I enjoy creating experiences and products that carry meaning and purpose, and I’m always exploring ways to use creativity to uplift, inspire, and empower others.
What I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve been able to make in people’s lives, watching students grow, leaders develop, and people gain clarity about their purpose. I’m proud of the courage it took to follow God’s direction, even when it meant stepping away from comfort and security. I’m also proud of building things from the ground up, whether it’s programs, processes, or creative projects, and watching them come to life.
What sets me apart is the combination of spiritual leadership, professional experience, and creative ability. I don’t just dream; I build. I don’t just create; I create with intention. I lead with authenticity, I value excellence, and I strive to serve people in a way that is both practical and transformative. My heart for people, my willingness to take risks in faith, and my ability to blend strategy with creativity are what make my work unique.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is singing with my family’s quartet group. We traveled all over, singing and ministering together, even when I was young. Those moments meant so much to me. I remember riding from place to place, going to different churches, meeting new people, and watching how the music would touch lives. We weren’t just singing, we were ministering, and even as a child I could feel the impact of that.
Those experiences shaped so much of who I am today. I learned early what it meant to serve, to be consistent, and to use my voice for something bigger than myself. It taught me discipline, faith, and the power of worship. Being on the road with my family, singing and doing ministry together, built a foundation in me that I still carry. Looking back, I realize those weren’t just memories, they were preparation for the life and calling I walk in now.
