Hidden Gems: Meet Timothy Korecky of Structure1 Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Korecky.

Hi Timothy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I came into this as a business owner with a background in electronics, not through the traditional agency route. After starting a service company of my own, I experienced firsthand how saturated the digital marketing space had become with companies all selling the same promises – better rankings, more visibility, more leads, ads, websites, and every new trend under the sun.

Too often, it felt like the same song and dance: a big upfront investment, underwhelming early results, and the promise that it would all work once things were finally ‘dialed in.’ That experience made one thing clear to me: there had to be a better way for businesses to grow online.

That belief became the foundation for Structure1 Digital. We focus on helping businesses build their digital presence the right way from the ground up. That means creating a strong foundation and teaching clients how to properly ‘season’ every avenue – from their website to their listings and supporting online signals – so search engines can see them, trust them, and place them consistently across the web before they ever have to spend heavily on ads.

We believe paid advertising should amplify a strong foundation, not compensate for a weak one. That mindset continues to define Structure1 Digital today: transparent, practical, and built to create real long-term value for the businesses we serve.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building in a market where trust is already low. Many business owners are skeptical for good reason — they’ve dealt with companies that overpromised, underdelivered, and left them feeling like visibility online always comes at a high price.

At the same time, a lot of businesses already have something in place that works better than what they had before, so they get used to paying a lot for results that are only marginally better. One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that throwing more money at something that isn’t working is almost never the best long-term solution, and rarely the best short-term one either.

What actually works is building the foundation correctly: a strong website, proper site structure, internal linking, schema, meta data, active posting, accurate setup across maps and search platforms, and all the supporting signals that help search engines recognize and trust a business. Even when all of that is done right, it still takes months to years of quality content, interaction, and positive reviews before a company earns broad organic visibility with its ideal customer base. If that foundation is not right, it may never happen organically at all.

That has been one of the most important lessons behind Structure1 Digital: the goal is not to spend more just to force visibility, but to build things the right way so visibility becomes stronger, more sustainable, and more cost-effective over time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Structure1 Digital?
We don’t just work from theory – we work from data. After analyzing more than 46,000 businesses, we found that roughly 10,000 did not even meet the website threshold, and only about 500 passed a basic mobile performance benchmark. That points to a larger issue in the market: too many businesses are paying for visibility before they’ve built a site and digital presence strong enough to support it. Our website has a map showing the data and it’s being updated as well as improved daily

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice to anyone starting out is to focus on the things you can control. There are a lot of factors in search and visibility that no one can fully control on an individual basis: location, search behavior, competition, timing, and how platforms interpret intent. That is why your foundation matters so much. If your business information is inconsistent, your website is weak, your content is unclear, and your trust signals are missing, it becomes very hard to build visibility the right way.

Start with the basics: claim and complete your profiles, stay active, collect reviews, document your work, keep your branding and contact information consistent, and invest in a website that is fast, structured properly, and built to clearly explain what you do. Paid ads can help, but they work best when they are amplifying a strong foundation, not compensating for a weak one.
