Hi Marimar “ Mari “, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into skincare really started with a deep curiosity about the skin and a desire to understand it beyond the surface. Working in dermatology gave me that foundation. It taught me how to truly treat the skin, not just temporarily improve it. But over time, I realized I wanted to create a different kind of experience for my clients, one that was more personal, more intentional, and focused on long-term transformation.
That vision led me to build Glowing Skin Solutions, where I’ve been able to combine my medical background with a results driven, customized approach to skincare. I specialize in treating concerns like aging, hyperpigmentation, and melasma, and I work closely with my clients to create treatment plans that fit seamlessly into their lifestyle.
As I’ve grown in my business, my purpose has become even clearer. It’s not just about treatments, it’s about helping women feel confident, educated, and in control of their skin. I’ve also been able to connect more deeply with my community by offering a bilingual experience, making skincare feel accessible and welcoming to more women.
Today, Glowing Skin Solutions is a reflection of that growth. It’s built on trust, consistency, and real results. And I’m still evolving, always looking for new ways to expand, educate, and serve my clients at a higher level.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped how I run my business today. In the beginning, one of the biggest struggles was building consistency not just in clientele, but in income, visibility, and confidence as a business owner. There are a lot of behind the scenes moments people don’t see, where you’re showing up, putting in the work, and trusting that it will eventually pay off.
Another major challenge was learning the business side of things. My background in dermatology prepared me to treat the skin, but it didn’t prepare me to run a business. I had to teach myself everything. From marketing and client retention to finances and systems. That learning curve was overwhelming at times, but it forced me to grow quickly and become more intentional with how I operate.
I’ve also had to shift my mindset over time. In the early stages, it’s easy to feel like you have to do everything or be everything to everyone. But growth taught me the importance of niching down, setting boundaries, and focusing on the clients and results I truly want to be known for.
Looking back, those challenges were necessary. They pushed me to become more disciplined, more strategic, and more confident in my vision. And now, I’m able to move with more clarity and purpose, which has made all the difference.
We’ve been impressed with Glowing Skin Solutions, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Glowing Skin Solutions is a results-driven skincare studio rooted in clinical knowledge, customization, and long term skin transformation. I specialize in corrective skincare, with a strong focus on concerns like aging, hyperpigmentation, and melasma. Conditions that require more than just surface-level treatments.
What sets my approach apart is that every client experience is intentional and tailored. There’s no one size fits all here. I combine my background in dermatology with advanced treatments like microneedling, dermaplaning, and enzyme therapy to create treatment plans that are designed specifically for each client’s skin and lifestyle.
But beyond the treatments, what I’m really known for is results and education. I take the time to help my clients understand their skin what it needs, how to care for it, and how to maintain their results outside of the treatment room. That’s where real transformation happens.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients. Glowing Skin Solutions isn’t just about skincare. It’s about consistency, relationships, and creating a space where women feel confident investing in themselves. I’ve been very intentional about building a brand that feels both results driven and personal.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that this is more than a facial. It’s a long term commitment to healthy, glowing skin with guidance every step of the way.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that consistency will take you further than perfection. In the beginning, it’s easy to feel like everything has to be perfectly aligned before you show up whether that’s your content, your services, or your brand. But growth really comes from showing up consistently, even when things aren’t perfect.
I’ve also learned the importance of staying true to your vision. Not every client is your client, and not every opportunity is meant for you and that’s okay. Once I became clear on who I wanted to serve and the results I wanted to be known for, everything in my business started to feel more aligned and intentional.
Another big lesson has been understanding that real results take time. Just like with skincare, building a business requires patience, discipline, and trust in the process. There are no shortcuts to long term success.
That mindset shift from chasing quick wins to focusing on long-term growth has been one of the most valuable parts of my journey.
