Conversations with Laura Schwalm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Schwalm.

Hi Laura, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into becoming a master psychic, prophetic healer, and spiritual teacher really began with my own search for healing.

I grew up in a household where illness and trauma were very present. My father struggled with severe physical health challenges throughout my life. He had cancer eight different times and went through numerous surgeries, including upper and lower back surgery, neck surgery, and a hip replacement. He also suffered from gout and other chronic conditions. My mother, on the other hand, struggled more on a mental and emotional level. Much of that pain traced back to my grandfather, who came home from World War II at a time when there was very little support or understanding for trauma or spiritual healing. Because of that, my family carried a lot of generational pain and fragmentation.

Looking back, I understand that I was born into a lot of generational and ancestral patterns—habits, behaviors, and emotional wounds that were often self-sabotaging. As I got older, I began searching for answers and healing. I started going to psychics and energy healers simply because I was trying to understand what I was experiencing and how to heal myself.

During that process, I went through a profound spiritual awakening. At one point, I called into a psychic radio show because I was hoping to get a reading and ask questions about the awakening symptoms I was experiencing. Instead, the conversation turned into something completely unexpected. As I began explaining what I was going through, the host recognized my intuitive abilities and wound up offering me a job.

That opportunity started my professional journey. I began working in Manhattan on Ask One Psychic Radio, and from there I went on to work in several healing centers throughout New York City, including Namaste and The Open Center. During that time, I developed my work as a psychic, healer, and medium while helping others navigate their own healing and spiritual paths.

In 2017, my husband and I moved to St. Augustine after he was hit by a cab. While he was recovering, I stayed home to help him rehabilitate. That season of life became another turning point for me. During that time, I focused on writing and creating. I wrote three books, developed my Shadow Healing Oracle system, and expanded my work online.

Over the years, I also built four YouTube channels where I share teachings about healing, and shadow healing/life coaching and personal transformation with oracle readings,

Then in 2025, another important step in my journey happened when I joined BNI. Through that experience, I felt led to deepen my work in a more structured and service-oriented way. I became certified in Christian life coaching, deliverance healing, and grief counseling, which added another layer of support and guidance that I’m able to offer people in their healing journeys.

In 2026 aside from running my own business, I work at the teaching chapter of Center for Spiritual Living on Orange Street offering prophetic readings, spiritual healing, and my shadow healing life coaching

What started as a personal search for healing eventually grew into a lifelong calling. Today, I help guide others through their own awakenings, healing generational patterns, and learning how to step into their spiritual gifts and purpose.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but it also hasn’t been entirely difficult either. Like most meaningful journeys, it’s been a mix of growth, challenges, and breakthroughs along the way.

One of the biggest turning points—and challenges—came when my husband and I moved from New York City to Florida. In New York, the environment was very different. There was already a strong spiritual and metaphysical community, so simply having a website was often enough for people to find me. My work as a psychic, healer, and medium was understood and accepted in those circles, and my practice grew naturally.

Florida was a very different experience. The culture here is much more rooted in the Christian community, which meant that I had to learn how to communicate and explain my work in new ways. It pushed me to step more fully into education and speaking, helping people understand what I actually do rather than relying on assumptions or stereotypes.

A major part of that growth came in 2025 when I joined BNI, a professional business networking organization. Walking into a room of nearly 100 traditional business professionals was a completely different experience than the spiritual circles I had been used to. When people first heard that I was a psychic healer and medium, I faced a lot of skepticism and backlash. In many ways, it brought up the same kinds of ridicule I experienced growing up—only this time it was coming from a different environment.

But instead of seeing it as something negative, I chose to see it as an opportunity. It was an opportunity to do things differently, to educate people, and to have open conversations about spirituality, healing, and intuition. It pushed me to become clearer in how I explain my work and more confident in standing in my purpose.

Over time, that persistence made a difference. While there will always be some people who remain skeptical, many others began to understand what I do and the value of the work. Out of a chapter of about 99 members, I would say that around 75 people have either written me strong testimonials or have shared that their perception of my work has changed in a positive way.

Interestingly, this was a different kind of experience than what I had in New York. Up there, people were already open to this type of work. Down here, I’ve had to meet people where they are, have conversations, and build trust. It meant getting out into the community, joining organizations, meeting people face to face, and truly “hitting the pavement.”

In many ways, that process was also part of my own healing and growth. It required me to step more fully into my role, speak confidently about my work, and build bridges between different perspectives and belief systems. While it wasn’t always easy, it ultimately strengthened both my mission and my voice as a healer and teacher.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work centers around helping people heal deeply—emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and even physically—so they can reconnect with their purpose and move forward in their lives with clarity.

I’m a prophetic master healer who is certified in more than 15 different healing and coaching modalities. My training spans a wide range of approaches, including Christian life coaching, cognitive therapy, past life regression, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), breathwork, meditation, prophetic readings, deliverance healing, shadow coaching, and neuro-linguistic therapy– To name just a few. . Because of this diverse background, I’m able to work with people from many different belief systems and meet them where they are in their healing journey.

One of the things I’m most known for is my Psychic Soul Healer treatment. The first part of this process is a channeled intuitive reading where I identify a person’s sabotaging habits, patterns, and behaviors and explain how they are playing out in their life. I also help them understand their soul’s path and give clear direction on what steps they can take to move forward. I’m able to tap into what people often already feel or sense internally but can’t quite put into words, which brings many clients an immediate sense of clarity and relief.

The second part of the session is a full healing experience that includes singing bowl therapy, the use of a BioMat, crystals, tuning forks, essential oils, and seven different types of incense used for energetic clearing. After the session, clients receive personalized guidance and “homework” to help them continue the healing process and achieve the goals we discussed. My approach is very holistic and designed to address the root of what people are experiencing, not just the surface symptoms.

I also offer prophetic and intuitive readings where I channel information directly, so clients don’t need to ask questions. Through the gift of spiritual knowing, I’m able to communicate what’s coming up in their life, what to be aware of, and how to move forward in alignment with their purpose. I’m also able to connect with the essence of loved ones who have crossed over, which helps many people work through unresolved grief and find peace.

Another area I work with frequently is helping people who feel stuck—whether that’s in addiction, grief, trauma, or simply feeling lost in their direction in life. As a certified holistic health coach, I also help people understand how trauma and emotional stress can affect the body and guide them in ways to support physical healing as well.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the healing school and community I created. It’s an online subscription space dedicated to healing and personal transformation. The membership includes teachings on inner child healing, shadow work, re-parenting, and many other modalities that help people work through the effects of trauma and generational patterns.

I intentionally made it affordable—just $50 a month—because I know firsthand how expensive healing can be. When I was on my own journey, I spent a lot of money seeking help from psychics and healers because there simply weren’t accessible resources or safe spaces available. I wanted to create the kind of environment that I wish had existed when I was starting out.

Inside the community, members receive access to my podcast called “Wholeness Within,” regular oracle readings, healing discussions, and interactive opportunities where they can ask questions and support one another. We also have giveaways, healing topics, and a collaborative space where people can grow together.

What really sets my work apart is that I combine intuitive, prophetic guidance with practical healing tools and education. My goal isn’t just to give someone a reading—it’s to help them understand themselves, heal the deeper patterns affecting their lives, and give them the tools to continue their growth long after our session ends.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice for finding a mentor and building a strong network is to stay open and be willing to explore different environments until you find the people and communities that truly resonate with you.

What worked best for me was joining a variety of different groups and organizations and allowing myself to experience different types of communities. Not every group will feel like the right fit, and that’s okay. The goal is to put yourself in rooms where you can meet people, learn, contribute, and see where natural connections develop.

I also believe strongly in being active in the community. Networking isn’t just about what you can gain—it’s also about how you can help, support, and show up for others. Volunteering, participating in events, and genuinely getting to know people creates relationships that are much more meaningful and long-lasting than simply exchanging business cards.

When it comes to finding a mentor specifically, one of the most important things is resonance. Their story should speak to you in some way. When someone has gone through similar challenges or experiences, there’s often a deeper level of empathy and understanding. They’re not just offering professional advice—they’re sharing wisdom that comes from having walked a similar path themselves.

A good mentor doesn’t just tell you what to do; they help you see possibilities, guide you through obstacles, and encourage you to grow into your own strengths. At the same time, it’s important to remember that mentorship can come from many places. Sometimes it’s a formal relationship, and other times it’s simply learning from people who inspire you along the way.

Ultimately, networking and mentorship are about building authentic relationships. The more open, curious, and willing you are to connect with others, the more opportunities you create for the right people to come into your life at the right time.
