Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Condle.
Hi Emily, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my career working in dermatology and plastic surgery offices, where I spent over a decade immersed in skin health, scalp conditions, and advanced aesthetic treatments. That experience gave me a deep understanding of results-driven services — but I also saw a gap in the market. Clients were craving something that blended clinical efficacy with true relaxation and nervous-system-level restoration.
That’s what led me to launch Sage HeadSpa.
What started as a single concept rooted in intentional touch, scalp health, and elevated experience quickly grew into something much bigger. We scaled fast — expanding into multiple states and building a team of incredibly talented providers. I’ve always been very hands-on in both operations and strategy, which has helped us grow intentionally while maintaining our brand standards.
It definitely has not been a smooth road.
Entrepreneurship — especially scaling quickly — comes with both incredible highs and very real challenges. Rapid growth means navigating staffing, systems, cash flow, partnerships, and constant decision-making — all while being a present, engaged mother. Balancing leadership, growth, and family life has stretched me in ways I never expected.
I wouldn’t call it easy — but I would absolutely call it worth it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve had to overcome was growing Sage at a rapid pace while navigating the realities of being a mom of three. Scaling a business in any space requires constant decision-making, adaptability, and emotional presence — all things that motherhood also requires in their own way. There have been seasons where it felt like every part of my life needed me at once, and I had to learn very quickly how to prioritize, delegate effectively, and trust my own instincts.
Balancing those demands stretched me in every possible direction. I had to get comfortable leading through uncertainty and creating systems that allowed the business to grow without burning out myself or our team. It wasn’t easy, but those challenges pushed me to elevate how I lead — to be more strategic, more grounded, and more intentional with my time and energy.
Ultimately, the experience has made me a stronger leader and shaped the way I show up for my clients, my team, and my family. It taught me resilience, clarity, and the confidence to build something sustainable even in the middle of a full life.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Sage HeadSpa is a luxury scalp and skin wellness concept inspired by Japanese HeadSpa techniques, elevated through a clinical lens. Before launching Sage, I spent over a decade working inside dermatology and plastic surgery offices. That background shaped everything about how we approach our services — we don’t just focus on relaxation, we focus on results.
At Sage, we specialize in scalp health, hair growth support, lymphatic drainage, and corrective skin treatments — all delivered in a luxury, nervous-system-calming environment. What sets us apart is that we blend advanced esthetics with intentional touch. Our services are structured, protocol-driven, and designed to be consistent across locations. We’re not a “trend spa.” We’re a results-driven wellness brand built on education, training, and elevated client experience.
We operate across multiple states and have scaled quickly, which has required an incredible amount of operational structure behind the scenes — training manuals, standardized protocols, curated professional product lines, and very intentional branding. Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Sage feels both clinical and calming at the same time. It’s luxurious but not intimidating. Elevated but still warm. Clients leave not only relaxed, but educated about their scalp and skin.
I also built this brand while raising three children. Motherhood and entrepreneurship have grown in parallel for me, and that perspective has shaped the culture of the company. I deeply value team empowerment, financial literacy, and building something sustainable — not just flashy.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Entrepreneurship has not been a smooth road. Scaling quickly has advantages — momentum, brand visibility, growth opportunities — but it also magnifies every weakness in systems, capital structure, and operations. I’ve taken major risks, especially around expansion. Opening multiple locations across states required significant financial investment, trust in leadership, and belief in a concept that was still relatively new to many markets.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken is continuing to expand and invest in infrastructure during periods of uncertainty and rapid growth. Risk, to me, is less about impulsiveness and more about calculated conviction. I look at data. I evaluate downside. I ask myself, “If this fails, can I survive it?” If the answer is yes — and I believe in the vision — I move forward.
I don’t think risk-taking is about being fearless. It’s about being willing to act despite fear. It’s about understanding that growth requires discomfort. Every meaningful step I’ve taken — leaving the medical field, opening the first location, scaling beyond one state — felt scary at the time. But staying comfortable would have been the bigger risk.
For me, risk isn’t reckless. It’s strategic. And it’s necessary if you want to build something that outlives you.
