Fixie Cellphone Repair opened in 2021. Like any entrepreneurial journey, it has come with its share of ups and downs. There were moments that tested me, especially this past year, but I kept going. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about avoiding hard seasons. it’s about standing tall through them. I’m proud of myself for pushing through, even when things felt uncertain.
Creativity has always been part of who I am. I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember, especially creating characters and designs. That creative side of me naturally blended with something else I’ve always had; a drive to solve problems. Even in school, I would find myself researching things beyond what was required, trying to understand how things worked or how to fix them. I’ve always been curious. I’ve always wanted to help. That mindset is what led me here.
Today, through Fixie Cellphone Repair, I repair cell phones, tablets, computers, and game consoles. I’ve been running the business for a long time now. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’m incredibly grateful, for the lessons, for the support I’ve received, and for every person who has trusted me with their device.
What makes my shop special to me isn’t just the repairs. It’s the connection. When customers come in, we don’t just complete a transaction and move on. We talk. We share stories. I’ve had some of the most genuine conversations while working on someone’s phone. It’s more than a storefront; it’s a comfortable space. It’s cozy. It’s real. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Starting and running a business solo comes with a lot of responsibility. the decisions, the pressure, and the problem-solving are constant.
One of the biggest challenges has been balancing everything alone. From repairs and customer service to ordering parts, managing expenses, and marketing, it all falls on me. There have been slow seasons that tested my faith, especially last year. Financial pressure can be heavy when you’re the only one carrying it.
There have also been technical challenges. Not every device is straightforward. Some repairs require extra research, patience, and sometimes trial and error. But I’ve always seen those moments as opportunities to grow rather than setbacks.
Mentally, it can be exhausting. There were days I felt overwhelmed. But those struggles shaped me. They forced me to become stronger, more disciplined, and more confident in my abilities.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth but every challenge has helped build the foundation of who I am as a business owner today. And I wouldn’t trade that growth for an easier path.
