Conversations with Traci Crawford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Traci Crawford.

Hi Traci, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a retired U.S. Army Colonel and Registered Nurse, and service has always been at the center of my professional life. Throughout my military career, I had the privilege of leading, mentoring, and caring for people during some of the most challenging and meaningful moments they would face. Those experiences shaped how I approach leadership, responsibility, and trust, and they continue to guide the way I serve others today.

After retiring from the military, transitioning into real estate felt like a natural continuation of that service. I saw real estate as another way to support individuals and families through military transitions when they are often navigating unfamiliar markets, tight timelines, and making important decisions from a distance. Today, I am a real estate professional with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, serving Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, St. Johns County, and the surrounding Northeast Florida communities.

Over time, I have built my business around trust, education, and long-term relationships. I work with first-time homebuyers, luxury clients, investors, sellers, and those who are downsizing or transitioning into retirement, with a strong emphasis on relocation and military moves. I am especially passionate about supporting military families, helping them navigate PCS relocations, VA loan benefits, and compressed timelines while finding a place that truly feels like home. My goal is not just to help clients buy or sell a home, but to help them thoughtfully close one chapter and confidently step into the next, creating space for new lifetime memories.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path has not always been easy. Transitioning from a structured military career into entrepreneurship required learning an entirely new industry, building a business from the ground up, and adapting to a constantly changing market. Real estate can be unpredictable, and clients are often navigating financial pressure and emotional decisions at the same time.

Choosing to build a service-driven business rather than a transactional one meant staying patient during slower seasons, continually refining my systems, and remaining committed to relationships over quick results. Those challenges strengthened my resilience and reinforced the importance of preparation, communication, and consistency — lessons that continue to shape how I serve my clients today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in residential and condominium sales, relocation, and military moves across Northeast Florida. I work with first-time homebuyers, luxury buyers, investors, sellers, and clients who are downsizing or transitioning into retirement. Much of my work involves helping clients relocate from outside the area and make confident decisions from a distance, often before they’ve had the opportunity to see a home in person.

One of the most meaningful examples of why I do this work involved a military family stationed in Guam who were relocating to Jacksonville. They were purchasing a home sight unseen and navigating the entire transaction remotely. I guided them through each step — from virtual tours and contract negotiations to inspections and closing — ensuring they felt informed, protected, and confident despite the distance.

They didn’t see their home in person until the day of closing. When they walked through the door for the first time, the buyer was overcome with emotion and shared that she never thought homeownership would be possible for her family. That moment captured exactly why relocation work matters so deeply to me. It’s not just about coordinating logistics across time zones — it’s about creating stability, opportunity, and belief during a period of significant change. They are a wonderful family, and I look forward to continuing our relationship well beyond the closing table.

I am also deeply involved with PCS Pay It Forward, an organization that supports incoming and outgoing military families as they transition through Jacksonville and across the country. That support often goes beyond housing and includes helping families understand military housing options, find safe and legitimate rentals, avoid rental scams, purchase homes using VA benefits, and connect with trusted local resources such as schools, doctors, employment opportunities, and activities for children of all ages.

How do you define success?
Success, to me, is knowing that I helped someone see what they once believed wasn’t possible. It’s the moment a family walks into a home and realizes they’ve created stability, safety, and opportunity for their future.

I think of a military family I recently helped relocate from Guam, purchasing their home entirely remotely. They didn’t see the house in person until the day of closing. When they walked through the door for the first time, the buyer was overcome with emotion and shared that she never thought homeownership would be possible for her family. Moments like that define success for me.

Success is earning trust during uncertain transitions, guiding families with care and clarity, and being present when life-changing milestones unfold. It’s building relationships that continue long after the transaction is complete and knowing that my work helped someone step confidently into their next chapter and begin creating new lifetime memories.
