Hi lakysha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A Touch of Luv&Peace Wellness started as a mobile massage business in 2020. At that time, I was still working at Massage Envy, so the business was open part- time. Now of course, everyone knows the year 2020 was the year of Covid being born. The whole world was shut down. While experiencing the world being on a shut down, this help me to be still and increase my faith. Because honestly, I didn’t know what was going to happen next. When the world opened back up, I pressed play and continued where I left off. I started off with great intentions of success for the business. However, it was a rough start. what I had gained through this experience was an increase in my faith, self-confidence, compassion and patience. These are golden principes to have when operating a business and as well in your personal life. In 2021 I step out on a leap of faith and found a location for the business. A Touch of Luv&Peace Wellness now had a location and an opportunity to grow and expand to become a wellness spa. We added more services. Massage and cupping, Reiki healing energy work, stretching, facial treatments and yoga. With all the services we offer we, were able to become a one-stop shop wellness spa. The business was still operating part-time, and I was still working at Massage Envy. I started to do some business collaborations to help with expenses, networking and capitol for the business. I would do vendor events on the side to promote the business and to connect with the community. I started Hosting Yoga &Wellness workshops, attending birthday spa parties, and private work events. The business was doing pretty good for itself. Most importantly I was proud of myself for not giving up and living out my dreams. Life is a journey. So, you have to enjoy all the paths that you come across. Especially the dark paths. They will eventually bring you back to the light. Fast forward to this present moment. We have now move to a new location in San Marco. This location and space are home for me. We are located inside the studio of San Marco Power yoga studio. I have been a student at this studio for 10years. And been teaching here for 5years. This is where my yoga journey began. It’s been 6 months since we’ve been at the new location. And This year will also make 6 years of us being in business. With a new location and same mission approach we hope to continue to spread the Luv&Peace with our affordable high-quality services. Everyone deserves LUV and everyone deserves PEACE. Come feel the LuV&Peace through touch.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not! Like I said before, I started off when covid was created. so, no smooth road this way. The Summer of 2023 and going into 2024 there, was a shift in the business as well in the economy that we weren’t prepared for. I know in my Industry the summer season are known to be more of our slower season. This season though was very slower than usual. And the business was definitely affected by it. It got to the point where I had to start picking up more hours at Massage Envy so that I could pay my expenses at home and for the business. I started to cut back on my business expenses. I was mindful of what I was spending, and I was working long crazy hours. I was working so much that I ended up getting really sick and having a mental breakdown. I knew that if I continue this route that I would be re-visiting this same place if I didn’t get some type of order in place. In this time, I took time to rest, spend some time with my family and self-reflected on how I wanted the business to be operated and not let the business operate me. I started to cut back on the hours I was working. I began to start doing some research on Entrepreneur programs that I could attend so that I could start understanding the back end of the business. I needed to create some type of business model to create a system for the business to start operating on it’s on. I attended a 12-week program at Jax bridges to help me create and understand how a business model works in your business. They also taught me how to pitch my business to future clients and future investor. At the end of the program, I had the opportunity to pitch the business to a panel of judges from well-known businesses in Jacksonville. The judges would share their feedback to us. This was an opportunity to explain your services, the mission for the business and to tell me them what the business needs help with. I actually had one of the judges come see me for a service. (blessing). After the 12- week program I started to do some research on my location of my business. This was one of the topics that was discussed in the program. Turns out that my location was not a great location for the business. I knew that I had a few months left in my lease, so I need to take this time to find a new location. Well one day I was heading to yoga class at San Marco Power yoga studio I notice that they had a room for rent in the studio. I thought to myself man that would be so dope if I could be in this space. I mean it just made sense. I’d already teach here. After yoga class I still kept thinking about it. I went to talk to the owner of the studio to gather more information about the space. And low key I was planting a seed in her ear. I knew that this is where I was supposed to be. It’s home for me. A couple months went by; I finished my lease and sure enough the space was still open. And in June 2025 we move into our new location at San Marco Power Yoga Studio. So, when the road begins to get bumpy. and trust me it’s going to get bumpy. Remember to trust and believe in god’s plan and believe in yourself.

A Touch of Luv&Peace Wellness is a one-stop shop wellness spa. We treat and help our clients to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, increase mental clarity and so much more. With 14 years of experience in healing and bodywork, A Touch of Luv&Peace Wellness is dedicated to assisting clients in finding the root cause of their specific pain points so that they can live a healthier, longer life while reducing stress. We believe that the body has the ability to heal itself as long as we give it the best conditions. We offer affordable high-quality services. Therapeutic massages, cupping massage, Reiki healing energy work, PCA facial treatments, stretching and private yoga class. We host wellness events for our clients and our community. This gives them an opportunity to experience some of our services that we offer. Our services do travel.so we can come to you. Birthday parties, special occasions, corporate events and private events. All of our services are customize based on the client’s needs and with the information that is gather in the consultation. What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To stay strong in my belief system. To take the time to learn your business. To ask questions like what’s your vision for the business in the next 5-10 years. What does the exit plan look like for the business? Creating system are a big key point in everything. Your personal life as well in the Business. I’ve learned balance and time management. Making sure to have time for myself, my husband, family and friends. Having healthy boundaries and taking break is needed. I have learned to fill my cup first and then others. As this journey continues with more lesson to learn. I will always remember to come back to the root of everything. God’s plan.
