Life & Work with Stephen Quinn of Jacksonville, Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Quinn.

Hi Stephen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I first started singing at age 14 when my family and friends along with myself first realized that I had a nice singing voice. I played baseball and football from the time I could run, sports has always been apart of my family and was a huge part of my upbringing. I loved sports then and still do to this day, but I knew from a young age that my passion was in music. Next to sports, music also played a big role in my family, we didn’t do anything without it. From cleaning the house, to cooking, to yard chores or just a car ride, it was all fueled my music of all kinds. Of course above all that was God, I was born and raised Catholic and I still go to church every Sunday, because without Him there is nothing. So I BELIEVE that aside from loving music, singing and just my passion, the reason I sing is because God gave me a gift and a purpose and I am blessed to be able to use it. I sing because I love it but it’s more than that, I sing for others, to make them feel, to touch their hearts and souls and help them. I have a strong passion to help others and I get that from my Papa Roy. Music is healing, I know that’s a saying often used but I truly BELIEVE it because I see it and I experience it myself.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any job is easy, and music is no exception. But when you truly love what you do, it makes the challenges easier to carry. I’ve definitely faced many struggles over the years and still do. There have been times when business was slow and finances were tough, but God always provides, and my faith continues to carry me through.
The biggest struggle I’ve battled—and still battle—is not giving up. Even with an amazing support system, it can be hard to keep pushing forward. In those moments, I remind myself why I do what I do. My love for music will always outweigh the struggLes.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have participated in many local contests throughout my 12 years of singing and even made it to The Top 50 on American Idol in 2019.

I have performed at many restaurants, bars, charity events, festivals, grand openings, private events/parties weddings, funerals and all kinds of sporting events.
I LOVE to sing The National Anthem! I have even had the honor of singing The National Anthem at The Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania live on ABC & ESPN.

Over the years along with help from some amazing friends and family, I have built an empire of relationships all over Florida. Being kind can go a long way and with that plus my talent I have been able to turn my dream into a reality and have done music full time for over 2 years now.

I have written many song and have about 10 recorded and released, streaming now. Titles : Like That, Fallin For You, Whatcha Did, Camera Roll, Get It Girl, Angel Baby, Heroes To Halos, TIL The Whiskeys Gone & Stand Up. Along with those I also recorded and released a cover of my favorite song by my favorite band, BELIEVE (Brooks & Dunn)

As you have probably noticed the word BELIEVE is very prominent in my dictionary. I believe in God and in myself.

I have a list of connections in Nashville, all kinds of different people. I have been back and forth to Nashville about a dozen times and now I’m making the move to be there full time. It’s scary, nerve wracking and exciting but at the end of the day I know that I’m ready, with God on my side and I, you guessed it, BELIEVE!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m a bit of an adrenaline junky, I love skydiving and have jumped out of a plane twice, with intention to do it again!
