Today we’d like to introduce you to Leigh Ann Ross.
Hi Leigh Ann, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a devout Christian, and I do my best to allow my love for the Lord guide every aspect of my life. My faith is the foundation of my family, my creativity, and my small business, Grace by Faith Jewelry. I’ve been married to my loving husband for 35 years, and together we’ve built a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. We have two amazing grown children and four beloved pets—our three cats, Fyodor, Annabelle, and Izzy B, and our loyal dog, Max.
My life is filled with music, art, and creativity. I love singing in my church choir and serving on the Praise and Worship team during both Sunday morning and Sunday night services. When I’m not at church or spending time with my family, you’ll often find me doing the things that bring me the most peace—reading, painting, drawing, playing music, and creating all sorts of handcrafted items.
My creative journey began when I was around two years old. I used to sit still for hours, watching a family friend paint, draw, and craft. Eventually, I joined in and painted right alongside them. From that moment, my love for art and creating only grew stronger.
I excelled in art all through school—elementary, junior high, high school, and into college. I was blessed to earn three scholarships for my talent, but since I graduated at just 17, my father didn’t want me living away from home yet, so I didn’t take them. Instead, I began studying with the intention of becoming a commercial artist. But my path took a beautiful turn when I met my future husband, Ron.
We started dating in June 1990, got engaged in July 1990, and were married in December of that same year. Somehow, we just knew we were meant to be together. I’d planned to only take a short break from school, but three months after our wedding, I found out I was expecting our first child, Alyssa. Two years later, our son, Shane, was born. Motherhood changed everything for me—in the best possible way.
I taught my children about art and music and encouraged them to be creative too. They grew up surrounded by songs, paintbrushes, and crafting supplies–often joining me on projects of their own. Creativity became part of our family’s rhythm and joy.
Over the years, my artistic interests expanded from sketching and painting to jewelry making and intricate beadwork. I’ve always believed you should never limit yourself, and that mindset has allowed me to explore many creative outlets. I find great joy in using my hands to bring unique, personal creations to life—pieces that carry meaning for both me and the people who receive them.
What began as a personal creative outlet soon turned into something much bigger. A few friends saw my early pieces and encouraged me to share them with others. After much prayer and reflection, I took a leap of faith and started Grace by Faith Jewelry—a handmade business built on faith, creativity, and love. Since then, it has been an incredible blessing to create custom designs that speak to the heart.
Through Grace by Faith Jewelry, I offer a wide selection of handcrafted items, including:
• Custom jewelry
• Beaded pens
• Beaded keychains
• Beaded ID badge reel holders for work or events
• And more
Each item I create is crafted with care, faith, and attention to detail. I love working on custom orders that allow people to choose specific colors, characters, or themes—making each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
My work is more than just crafting; it’s an expression of my faith, my heart, and my lifelong love of creating. With every piece I make, my goal is to bless others through beauty, creativity, and grace.
Each item is more than just jewelry—it’s a message, a memory, and a ministry. Thank you for supporting handmade and faith-based art!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s expensive to get into making jewelry because you have to have a LOT of different types of beads in order to have a good variety. Then there are all the little parts/findings, finding a way to store everything, then storing all the finished product. What I thought would be a challenge has turned out to be something in which I actually excel: sales. I’ve never been a salesperson, so I was concerned it would be difficult for me to do. I love to meet new people and talk, so because I meet with other creative types, I have no issues talking!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make necklaces, bracelets, earrings, beaded pens, beaded keychains, beaded name badge reels, beaded insulated cup charms, and much more. It seems like the first thing people gravitate to at my live events is my beaded pens. I sell a LOT of beaded pens. I have many Disney characters, teachers, military-themed, superheroes, sports teams, anime, Hello Kitty (and her friends!), and much, much more. I always try to make as many items as I can. I think the fact that I strive to make each piece unique and not to repeat any patterns is what makes me stand out! No two pieces alike!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being able to do what I love and to see the happiness it brings to others is a gift. I love to make others happy, and to see them smile when they find something that they love. I love making others happy!
