Hi Keri, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
There was a time when my favorite hobby was getting drunk, partying, and being the one who always showed up with something wild to try. In my early 20’s, nothing got the night started faster than a big bowl of jello, if you know, you know. 😉
As I got older, the party-girl energy never left… it just evolved. Instead of drinking it all, I started baking with it. I was always the friend experimenting with new drinks, new desserts, and new ways to make something “just a little boozy.”
Somewhere in my “growing up” phase I realized hangovers just weren’t as cute anymore and I decided that alcohol belonged in flavor, fun, and creativity vs pure chaos. With that, Boozy AF Sweets was born.
Now instead of bringing jello shots to the party, I’m bringing cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and other small boozy treats that carry that same nostalgic spark… just in a grown-up, delicious, totally addictive way.
Launching our trailer this year was my way of letting everyone enjoy a little Boozy AF at weddings and grown-up parties—no messy kitchens, no questionable decisions, just straight-up fun and flavor in every bite.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Luckily, it has been a pretty smooth road so far. In 2020, I started up my first side hustle, Crafty-ish AF, selling handmade drink coozies and other fun barware type items. I was able to build my knowledge of business start-up needs and solutions to potential obstacles with that business, which helped set me up for success to start Boozy AF!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As the owner and creator of Boozy AF Sweets, I turn classic desserts into bold, alcohol-infused treats made strictly for grown-ups because we should get fun stuff just for US sometimes, right?!
I specialize in boozy cookies, brownies, truffles, and fun, different flavors for events and pop-ups, including my mobile dessert trailer.
I’m known for having flavors you never thought you’d find in dessert form, that actually taste good, and have a boozy twist!
What I’m most proud of? Building a brand that’s loud, memorable, and entirely me… with a splash of booze.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity wins every time. Turns out, being a little unfiltered and unapologetically real not only seems to grab people’s attention and allow us to connect, but is way more fun and effective with my customer base.
