Meet Bianca Stewart of Skin By Bianca LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Stewart.

Hi Bianca, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My Journey Into Esthetics and Entrepreneurship

My journey began in 2008 while I was in high school. I was enrolled in a cosmetology class, and my teacher, quickly noticed my natural passion for makeup and skincare. I often did makeup for classmates during prom and graduation season, and she saw how dedicated I was to keeping my own skin healthy and glowing.

One afternoon after class, she pulled me aside and asked what my plans were after graduation. At that time, I had no true direction. She encouraged me to consider enrolling in an esthetics program—something I had never heard of before. She explained that an esthetician is to the skin what a cosmetologist is to hair, and she believed I would thrive in the field. She recommended a school and even offered to take me herself. I was humbled that she had noticed my talent, and I will be forever grateful for the guidance she gave me at a time when I needed direction.

After graduation, I enrolled in Georgia Career Institute, and the program was truly life-changing. We learned everything—from skincare and product formulation to business development, FDA-compliant labeling, and hands-on treatments such as lancing and skin tag removal. We also had the opportunity to collaborate with cosmetology and massage therapy students, which helped shape us into well-rounded estheticians prepared for the real world.

After completing the program, I worked for several companies to gain as much experience as I could. When I later moved to Florida, I was able to transfer my license through a school whose cosmetology instructor was also a licensed esthetician. Even though they did not have an official esthetics program at the time, they made accommodations so I could continue on my path. That opportunity was truly a blessing.

Prior to completion of transferring my license, I had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful lady named Tiara Tomlin, she is a successful esthetician and business owner. She shared business tips on becoming successful in our field of work. She setup my first interview for my esthetician job, that I obtained after moving. She is a big part of my foundational beginnings.

As I settled into my new community, I joined a franchise spa that allowed me to rebuild, learn new products and techniques, and reconnect with the work I loved. Shortly after, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Dr. Sadove, a highly respected and well-educated plastic surgeon. His entire team was a pleasure to work with, and they provided me with all the support, tools, and resources I needed to grow. I am especially grateful to Ms. Robbin and Mrs. Tera for their guidance and encouragement during that time.

I later joined another medical spa under the leadership of Ms. Shannon, one of the sweetest and most knowledgeable professionals I know. She allowed me to work alongside her as she built a medical spa from the ground up. Learning the operations, marketing, and business structure firsthand was pivotal in shaping me into a future spa owner.

Through Ms. Shannon, I met Ms. Julia, a phenomenally educated and highly professional medical spa owner. I absolutely love her team and contractors—they are warm, welcoming, fun to work with, and truly passionate about what they do. Working under Ms. Julia allowed me to sharpen my skills in medical esthetics and deepen my expertise in advanced treatments. Also giving me the opportunity to do volunteer work in the community with the seniors.

Eventually, I partnered with Ms. Welcome, who is kind-hearted, loving, down-to-earth, and a wonderful business partner. Together, we built a bond that reflected both of our strengths, and I am grateful for the trust she placed in me during that chapter of my journey.

Today, I am proud to be the owner of Skin by Bianca LLC. With God’s guidance and the support of so many incredible women and professionals, I have grown into the esthetician and business owner I am today.

My brand represents all things skincare. I serve clients of every background—men, women, teens, and elders—with the goal of transforming their skin and helping them achieve long-lasting confidence and healthy results. I love connecting with my community, educating the youth, and supporting the elders through customized skincare services.

My short- and long-term goals are to continue advancing my education, mastering new equipment and techniques, and expanding my scope through additional degrees and licensing. I understand that some concerns fall outside my current scope of practice, and I proudly collaborate with licensed medical professionals to ensure my clients receive the best and safest care.

After more than 15 years in the industry, I am still learning, evolving, and growing. I am thankful for every mentor, every lesson, every opportunity, and most of all—every client. Seeing their skin glow, their confidence rise, and hearing that they were referred by someone who loved their results brings me the greatest joy.

I am honored to be featured in your magazine. Thank you, Voyage Jacksonville Magazine, for acknowledging my work and allowing me to share my journey. I hope my story encourages others to pursue their dreams with passion, faith, and resilience.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any path to success the are always speed bumps and pot holes along the way. The biggest obstacles I have face was just uncertainty after completing my license not know if I was going to be able to get employment in my field. 15 years ago esthetics wasn’t a very know field like it is today. I appreciate how much it has grown and became a very well know and respected field

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was very quiet, reserved, soft spoken and shy, but adaptable. I went to many different elementary, middle and highschools. This exposed me to diverse environments and teaching styles. This experience help shape my ability to adapt, connect with people from various backgrounds and approach learning with an open mindset.
Ultimately shaping me into who I am today.
In my adult life I am not shy or as quite, but still soft spoken most of the time, and still very much reserved. When I’m with my family and friends I am very silly, goofy and comedic.

My interest has always been music. I grew up in the church singing in the choir, GPKids. I started learning to play the cello in grade school. My music teacher would have our class swith instruments, to become versatile in learning the bowed string family (like sister instruments). I was able to learn the violin and bass also. I always had a love for chordophones. I knew that one day I wanted to be a teacher. I studied elementary education in college, after I got my license in skincare. Now I get to put the 2 things I love together and teach skincare to everyone including the youth. I am a foodie and love cooking. Watching Top Chef is one of my favorite hobbies. I love traveling, especially out of the country. My interest and hobbies are also genealogy, Ancestry and African American studies. I am excited to be able to build a life where I am doing everything I want to do with the help of my family, friends and loveone’s. I would like to travel alot more. My next venture includes adding more license and degrees under my belt. Maybe some acting classes and voice overs. I’m still young and have so much more to accomplish!
