Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda West.
Hi Amanda , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I was a young girl I always had an eye for design . I was exposed to business and the construction world with my parents who were entrepreneurs owning construction companies . So you might say design and building is in my blood but it did not come into play as a career until I married a builder . Several years into our marriage I pursued my real estate license and then my brokers license , as I was enjoying learning our local market in depth I was also facilitating in helping my husbands clients in the design of their custom built homes. In time we decided to collaborate the business and completely put all of our focus on developing the area we lived in , Neptune Beach , with luxury spec homes .
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a business always has it’s ups and downs. By far the biggest obstacle I have faced was the sudden loss of my husband . I had to quickly decide if I would move forward with the business or shut it down . My husband had told me in the past that if something ever happened to him “to continue to move forward with things .. build our family legacy …I have no doubt you can drive this ship .”
So with those words echoing in my mind I pulled up my boot straps and kept everything moving forward . Best decision I ever made !

All of my homes are built with quality construction by some of our best subcontractors in town . Each one is truly custom with my design inspiration starting on paper all the way to the very last detail when I hand the home owner the keys at closing .
People often ask where my design ideas come from ? All over , mostly from travel but I pull from books and magazines as well . My best ideas usually come to me at 3 am when I can’t sleep and my brain just seems to fire off the best creativity .
What sets my homes apart from others more than anything else is the love and time poured into them . I’m not just building a house I’m building a home where the walls will hold memories of someone’s life story , I hold that as a high honor .
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I grew up on a lake house till I was 12 years old . My dad brought in beach sand and turned it into a beach oasis . My cousin and I spent the summers out on the water boating and playing lakeside . Our best memories were made in that sand and on the lake .
