Community Highlights: Meet Mikayel Aslanyan of All Furniture Services / ServiceJan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikayel Aslanyan.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born in 1977, I hold a Master’s degree in Cybernetics and Automated Systems and began writing software at the age of 15. I immigrated to the United States from Armenia in 1999, where I entered the furniture service industry and built what is now the highest-completion-rated nationwide furniture service company. Today, All Furniture Services represents over 1,000 companies and has completed more than 3 million service experiences across the country.

Leveraging my background in technology and real-world service operations, I founded ServiceJan Inc., a software company designed to modernize the service industry. ServiceJan provides transparent pricing, real-time scheduling, and verified provider availability while helping small, old-fashioned service operators transform into scalable, professional businesses. The ServiceJan App is already in the market and contributed to scaling AFS by over 500% within just a few years.

I am also a Forbes Business Council member, a licensed pilot, a chef, and the owner of a restaurant in New York City.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing about this journey has been smooth, and honestly, I wouldn’t want it to be. Every single day brought a new challenge — something to solve, something to learn, and something that forced me to grow stronger, smarter, and climb higher. From immigrating to the U.S. with almost nothing, to entering a completely new industry, to scaling a nationwide service company and building transformative software from scratch — every step required persistence, discipline, and a refusal to give up.

The obstacles became lessons, the lessons became experience, and the experience became the foundation that allowed me to build All Furniture Services into a top-rated national company and launch ServiceJan to change the service industry for the better.

We’ve been impressed with All Furniture Services / ServiceJan , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
All Furniture Services and ServiceJan are two sides of the same mission — improving and modernizing the service industry. All Furniture Services is the highest-rated nationwide furniture repair company, trusted by over 1,000 brands and retailers, with more than 3 million completed services. We’re known for fast response, high completion rates, and dependable workmanship that protects the reputation of every company we represent.

ServiceJan is the technology born from that real experience. It brings transparency, instant scheduling, verified availability, and fair pricing to customers, while helping traditional service providers operate like scalable, modern businesses. The same system that helped scale AFS by over 500% is now offered to service providers everywhere.

What sets us apart is simple: real results, real experience, and real innovation. We understand the problems of the service world because we lived them — and we built solutions that actually work. I’m proud that our brands stand for honesty, reliability, and forward-thinking technology that raises the standard for both customers and service professionals.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What do you like best about Jacksonville?

Honestly, Jacksonville has everything — great people, sunshine, business opportunities, and enough space to feel like the city never gets crowded. It’s like the perfect mix of big city and beach life.

What do you like least about Jacksonville?

It’s huge. I mean really huge. You can start driving to dinner and feel like you’re taking a mini road trip. Sometimes I think my GPS gets tired before I do.

But overall? Still worth every mile.
