Today we’d like to introduce you to Dicoy Powell.
Hi Dicoy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started the business in 2022 in Ohio, with just doing taxes, personal finance and credit repair. I gained my first full time accounting/bookkeeping client in 2023 and then moved to Florida in 2024. Since moving to Florida, the tax side of the business has grown significantly. The accounting side of the business has grown as well with me now having 9 full time accounting clients. I still work my full-time job with this business on the side, but I am hoping to take it full time within 2- 5 years.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No not a smooth road, the biggest struggles are trying to find business to become an accountant for. They either not looking, have someone, or don’t trust you because the business is 3 years old and your work remote. The best way I try to overcome is making sure everything is up to date on my socials and website.

The biggest think I want people to know is that I lead with integrity and I never gatekeep information, my knowledge is always free.
The business specializes in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, taxes, budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, personal finance and any other thing accounting related.
The business and I am known for how personal working together feels and I get that from all my clients.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I am from Jamaica, and I immigrated to the USA when I was 18. My favorite child memory is just going to beach with my cousins and playing soccer.
