Hi Lori, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into this business wasn’t part of some long-term master plan… it was born out of a turning point in my life that made everything crystal clear.
In 2016, after being diagnosed with a benign meningioma brain tumor that is part of my carotid artery and was causing my left eye to droop, I realized it was time to stop waiting and start walking in my purpose. That moment pushed me to launch BizBolster Web Solutions, a business that would merge my 25+ years in tech with my creative talents and my passion for helping others be seen, heard, and chosen.
At that point, I already had 7 years of experience as a business owner under my belt, but this was different. This business was mission-driven. It was personal.
The brain tumor may have been the spark, but the fire had been building for years – through surviving colon cancer, leaving an abusive marriage, recovering from a stroke, and now living with partial blindness and chronic headaches, results from the brain surgery done to move the tumor off my optical nerve so my eye would stop drooping. Those chapters shaped my resilience, deepened my empathy, and gave me an unshakable drive to help others step fully into their brilliance.
Now, I work with established Thought Leaders and Influencers – executive coaches, consultants, authors, and speakers – who are ready to elevate their visibility and authority online. I don’t just build websites; I build Authority Platforms™: trust-driven, client-attracting machines that reflect their real-life brilliance behind the brand.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh, not even close to smooth… but it has been purposeful every step of the way.
Health-wise, I’ve faced more than my share of roadblocks. The brain tumor that pushed me to start this business has left me with chronic headaches and vision issues that I still manage daily. And that came after the challenges of surviving colon cancer, a stroke, and the emotional toll of leaving an abusive marriage. So yes, my road has had more than a few sharp turns.
But the internal challenges have been just as big.
When I started BizBolster, I had a strong background in tech, but I had to completely evolve my skill set to step into the world of branding, marketing, and client psychology. I had to become more than just a website builder. I had to become a strategic partner, a brand storyteller, and a sales-focused expert for my clients.
I also had to grow my confidence – learning how to shift from helping DIYers to running a done-for-you business model that delivers real results and higher value. That required a new level of selling, a new level of self-belief, and a complete mindset shift.
I had to figure out what was in my zone of genius – what only I could do – and learn how to delegate everything else. That’s not easy for someone used to doing it all herself. But it’s been essential to grow sustainably.
And I’ve also grown in other ways – developing deeper relationship-building skills, learning how to partner with affiliates and collaborate in joint ventures, and truly learning how to build a business that reflects not just what I do, but who I am.
It’s been a stretch. It’s been refining. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade the bumpy road for anything… because the clarity, confidence, and purpose I’ve found along the way are exactly what I now get to help other experts discover for themselves.

What’s next?

This has been a long time in the making, and it’s designed to give Thought Leaders the clarity, tools, and digital foundation they need to grow without burning out.
Beyond that, I’m looking forward to stepping more fully into speaking – both nationally and internationally. Sharing this message with live audiences and empowering more experts to finally be seen, heard, and chosen is a huge part of my mission. I believe too many brilliant leaders are still invisible because their brand and message just aren’t aligned – and I want to be a voice that changes that.
I’m also continuing to build partnerships and joint ventures that align with our values and allow us to reach more of the right people. I see a future where BizBolster isn’t just a provider of services, but a movement that’s helping redefine what online authority looks like for experts across multiple industries.
And personally, I’m committed to building the business in a way that supports both impact and well-being. That means intentionally designing for sustainability – continuing to delegate, growing a values-aligned team, and protecting the space I need to prioritize my health and energy. I’ve learned that doing meaningful work doesn’t require hustle at the cost of wellness. In fact, honoring both is exactly what allows me to serve at the highest level.
