Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Wittig.
Hi Luke, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born in Chicago, but raised in Medellin, Colombia, as my parents were missionaries. Grew up around extreme poverty, but in an environment of always loving and caring for people. My wife & I came up to the US in 2005, at the age of 20, with $23 in my pocket, but full of hope and a desire to work.
Thankfully, I met a multi-millionaire who taught me some pretty cool things about finance & money, to which I thought everyone needs to know. So I started sharing these concepts, with friends, family, at church, everywhere I could. I started doing these educational workshops at the churches I was working at. Ended up studying and getting licensed.
Now over the years, we’ve been able to do hundreds of workshops all over, with churches, schools, universities, businesses, with the city of Jacksonville, all Jacksonville Public Libraries, even on the military bases. And we have been able to help over 5000 families with their finances.
Our goal is to continue to serve and help thousands of families to improve their financial futures!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No road is smooth! Helping people navigate their finances through the 2008 recession was full of lessons, to which we have been able to use for every recession since. Learning to serve people is always a challenge, but if your heart is in the right place, you will always do what’s right for people. And long term, it’s worth it.
