Hi Aivia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“My passion, my purpose, and truly the reason I am who I am today.”
When I was 19, my life changed overnight. I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called dermatomyositis and trust me, trying to pronounce that is almost as hard as the journey itself. This condition took so much from me: my mobility, my muscle strength, my confidence, and honestly, pieces of my identity.
But in the middle of all that pain, something unexpected gave me relief and hope: massage therapy. It helped me get through the hardest days, both physically and emotionally. What started as a way to survive became the spark that led me to my calling.
It’s funny how the roadblocks life throws at you eventually guide you to bigger, wider paths. Dermatomyositis challenged me, but it also revealed my purpose. Because of it, I found the world of healing, touch, and wellness and that journey is what ultimately led me to open So Serene Massage Day Spa and do the work I love every single day.
Dermatomyositis, I don’t love you… but I’m grateful for the purpose you pushed me toward.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“It’s never a smooth road when you’re building a dream. Opening my business came with a lot of challenges like long nights, financial stress, learning the business side on my own, and constantly pushing myself to grow even when things felt overwhelming. There were moments of doubt, moments where I wondered if I was doing enough or making the right decisions.
But every obstacle shaped me. Every setback taught me something I needed to know. Building So Serene Massage Day Spa wasn’t easy, but the hard parts are what made the journey meaningful. They forced me to stay focused, stay committed, and trust myself even when the path wasn’t clear.”

So Serene Massage Day Spa is more than a spa it’s a healing space. I created this business to bring peace, relief, and confidence back into people’s lives. We specialize in massage therapy, skincare, post-op after care (lymphatic drainage) , nano infusion, and personalized treatments that are tailored to each client’s unique needs. What we’re known for is intention: every service is done with care, education, and real purpose behind it.
What sets us apart is the experience. Clients don’t just come in for a service they come in for a moment of calm, a reset, and a place where they feel seen and cared for. I’m hands-on with my clients, I take time to educate them, and I truly listen. My brand focuses on results, relaxation, and long-term wellness, not quick fixes.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is the trust we’ve built. People walk in and tell me they feel safe here, that this is their escape. That means more to me than anything. I’ve worked hard to create a spa that feels warm, welcoming, and intentional from the moment you walk through the door.
