Exploring Life & Business with Dr. JJ Green, MAT. CE of AEM, Inc. / Creative Solutions 21, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. JJ Green, MAT. CE.

Hi Dr. JJ, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am Dr. J.J. Green, MAT, CE—a wife, mother, preacher, educator, author, consultant, and licensed life and annuities broker. Everything I do is rooted in perseverance, purpose, and a deep belief that transformation is possible wherever God places me. With two decades of experience across K–12 education, ministry, and organizational leadership, I have learned to merge scholarship, spirituality, and strategy in ways that uplift individuals, strengthen communities, and bring restoration to systems in need.

I am a proud HBCU graduate of Paine College. I hold a BA in Sociology (emphasis in Psychology), MAT (Secondary Education, Political Science & History) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, where my research centered on administrative leadership and new teacher retention (addressing school discipline, culture and climate). I also serve as a Certified Clinical Educator, instructional coach, curriculum designer, and prophetic voice—assignments that allow me to support, mentor, and equip leaders both in the classroom and in the Church.

I am the founder of Creative Solutions 21, LLC, a God-breathed initiative that began as Creative Solutions 21st Century, Inc. This work was born out of my burden for the breakdowns and disparities I witnessed in school communities. Over time, I expanded the vision through the Sankofa Educator Training (SET) Institute, which exists to help called educators operate in excellence, authenticity, and cultural integrity.

Throughout my career, I have served as a classroom teacher across multiple content areas (grades 6–12), a Vice Principal (K–6), a Dean of Students, teacher mentor, and professional development facilitator. My areas of strength include instructional coaching, differentiated instruction, culturally responsive practices, PBIS, digital learning environments, and equity-centered leadership. I have also written educational resources, reflective journals, and devotionals such as Faith, Fidelity & Education: A Devotional for Educators and 3 Factors That Impede Highly Effective Instruction.

In 2016, I was recognized as one of the “Top 20 Under 40” recipients in city of Jacksonville, FL.

In ministry, I am known as a passionate and prophetic preacHER—affectionately called the “sister-cousin-aunty-preacHER.” My heart is for inner healing, spiritual warfare, family restoration, and helping believers walk boldly in their Kingdom identity. My husband, Pastor Chris Green, Sr., and I co-lead Resilient Life Ministries, a work that emerged from some of the most difficult seasons of our lives. Through faith and resilience, we turned hardship into a testimony that now serves families, leaders, and communities.

Whether I’m supporting school districts, mentoring new teachers, coaching leaders, preaching, or consulting organizations through data-informed and Kingdom-aligned strategies, my mission remains the same: to Equip, Empower, and Elevate those called to shape minds, transform communities, and advance the Kingdom with integrity and impact.

I am a proud member of:
•Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (ΝΕΣ)
•National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa (ΔΔ)
• B.E.E. (Black Excellence Empowerment)
•100 Black Women
• Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity
• American Association of Christian Counselors
• Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society

Above all, I see myself as a resilient vessel. My journey has been shaped by trials, but those challenges have become my testimony. I’ve learned that when faith, fidelity, and perseverance come together, transformation is not just possible—it’s inevitable.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it absolutely has not been a smooth road. My journey has been marked by seasons of intense pressure, transition, and personal stretching. While pursuing my doctoral degree and building my career, life was unfolding behind the scenes—real life. I faced significant family changes, adjusted to new responsibilities, and carried the weight of nurturing young children who were active and involved. At the same time, I navigated the emotional impact of losing a matriarch in my life, a woman who shaped me profoundly.

There were moments when I experienced financial strain and uncertainty, and times when I felt like everything around me was shifting at once. Yet through every challenge, I kept my eyes on God. My faith anchored me, and every obstacle became a stepping stone. Those seasons taught me endurance, sharpened my purpose, and gave me a compassion for people who are pushing forward while managing battles no one sees.

The road wasn’t smooth, but it strengthened me. And it prepared me for the work I do today—helping others rise, rebuild, and keep going even when life is happening behind the scenes.

What were you like growing up?
I was a fun-loving, friendly, inquisitive child who always found joy in helping others. Teachers frequently selected me to lead groups or serve as the class “go-to,” even though I didn’t always want the responsibility. Leadership seemed to follow me long before I fully understood it.

I was raised primarily by my mother, with the loving support of my maternal grandparents, who cared for me as if I were their own. Losing my grandfather at eight years old created a deep void because he was the first father figure I truly knew. My mother’s sister and her husband were also a steady source of support, and my uncle naturally stepped into the role of the father I didn’t have present. While one side of my family embraced me wholeheartedly, on the other side I often felt different—almost set apart—which shaped my resilience and sensitivity to how others experience belonging.

Growing up, I stayed active in Girl Scouts and participated in a variety of sports including basketball, tee ball, and tennis. I was born in Augusta, Georgia, and later moved to Atlanta (Riverdale), where I lived from fourth grade until I graduated high school. Because I was an only child and my family wanted the best educational opportunities for me, I attended private school in my early years. When I transitioned to public school, I participated in the “Minority to Majority” busing program, which meant two-hour rides to and from school each day. Those long commutes shaped my discipline and exposure to diverse environments.

Although I enjoyed sports, I found my true joy in the marching band and drill team at Westlake High School in Southwest Atlanta. I always believed I would become a doctor—I loved science, served as President of the Allied Health Club and the Honors Chemistry Club, and was active in several youth organizations, including The Rhoer Club of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Church was a major part of my upbringing. I was involved in children’s ministry, teen ministry, Vacation Bible School, and just about every program my church offered. My mother often brought me along to community service events through her job and her sorority, and those experiences planted the early seeds of service, advocacy, and leadership. On days without school, I accompanied my grandmothers and aunt—all educators—to their workplaces, which only deepened my passion for young people and laid the foundation for the educator and leader I would later become.
