Megan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my real estate business, Peace of Mind Homes LLC back in 2013, but did not utilize it due to a new baby, personal/family obligations. As a woman of Haitian descent, I did not grow up with any business role models or mentors. I was raised with the mindset of either getting a job in a high demand field (Medical or Law) that will be able to support yourself and family. However, I always knew I wanted to work for myself one day, that was my dream. Fast forward to the pandemic 2020 when the world shut down and everything went remote. I still was blessed enough to work my 9 to 5 since it was in the medical field. During the shutdown, I constantly saw ads, infomercials on ways to make money in real estate by buying properties (house flipping, rentals, vacation homes, etc.). I figured why not take advantage of this shutdown and gain the knowledge and tools needed to start a growing competitive market industry. So I did just that. I took someone’s master’s class on wholesaling and within a week I felt competent enough to follow through with registering my LLC with the IRS and bought my first fix/flip wholesale property in 2021. The real reason I delayed my dreams of entrepreneurship was the myths and misconceptions of real estate. You think you need the prefect credit score or tons of capital when that is not the case. There are key strategies and ways of funding available for real estate investors, meaning you don’t ever have to use your own money. As of date, I own 3 rental properties and continue to build my real estate portfolio. My journey has taught me that it is never too late to change your outcome.
I started my tax business, TaxLiance Group LLC this year in 2025. It came up as a hobby I did for family and friends. I never took it seriously until a friend of mine persuaded me to take it a step further. I found the time to prepare and study to become certified as a Tax Preparer. I used the tools and credentials needed to establish my own tax business. Along with a flourishing real estate portfolio, I anticipate my tax business to prosper exponentially within the coming years along with becoming an enrolled agent for the IRS.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

I am the sole owner and proprietor of the business. What sets my brand apart as a business owner is the strong vision and attention to detail I have. Being able to take the poorest condition of properties and getting them to reach their fullest market potential. Peace of Mind Homes, LLC adapts well to market changes and building of strong networks, which distinguishes them from less experienced investors. Open to services states outside Florida, including the southern region markets.
TaxLiance Group, LLC is a limited liability company which involves preparing and filing tax returns, providing strategic tax advice while maintaining compliance with all tax laws. My business collects and reviews all financial documents like W-2s, 1099s, and expense reports to accurately prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and business. My brand is remote so there is no office. It allows consumers to get their information to me through a secure portal without ever leaving their homes. I receive their documents and start to work on them. I maintain and use 100% confidentiality systems where information is protected and secure.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
A favorite childhood memory would be early Saturday morning stories with my Grandmother over coffee!
