Today we’d like to introduce you to Quenton Washington.
Hi Quenton, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My first job was at Walmart overnight at 18. Worked there for 3 years. Then got hired on as a sales rep at Pepsi, did that for 5 years. At Pepsi you get a lot of alone time being that you work on your own so I had a lot of time to research different businesses to get into. So for years I studied entrepreneurship & what it takes to do it. My dad used to cook and sell food so I thought it was a good opportunity for us since he already had the experience so I bought a food truck. We opened up one day a week for the first year. My first day opening I had a huge crowd out and I never looked back.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not smooth at all, but when you invest so much money you’ll figure it out. Problems like equipment breaking, people quitting, hard to find good help, my dad didn’t want to contrite so I was left to do it. Spending thousands of dollars not knowing if people would show up. Etc.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Have a good truck. Known for soul food. I’m proud of my resilience & love for my people. What sets me a part is my work ethic.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I like watching YouTube. Videos about business, entrepreneurship, or motivational. Pages like upflip etc. I like podcast as well that a similar. And on a non related topic I like psychology videos.
