Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Martinez.
Hi Olivia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt deeply called to walk alongside women through the sacred transformation of birth and motherhood. What began as a childhood fascination with pregnancy grew into a lifelong mission — to honor the beauty, strength, and intuition that lives within every mother.
I became a doula at just 18 years old, driven by a quiet knowing that this work was something I was created to do. Over the years, I’ve supported almost 200 families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum — each experience reaffirming my belief that birth is not just a physical event, but a spiritual unfolding.
My own journey into motherhood has been both humbling and healing. After a challenging first birth and a redemptive homebirth with my second daughter, I understood in a deeper way how vital it is for women to feel safe, seen, and supported in their most vulnerable moments. That understanding has shaped how I show up — with softness, strength, and reverence for the process.
Today, through my doula work, craniosacral therapy, and free community support groups, I strive to create spaces where mothers can reconnect with themselves and one another. I truly believe birth is sacred, women are powerful, and no one should have to navigate this journey alone. This isn’t just my profession — it’s my calling, and it’s been written on my heart for as long as I can remember.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I feel incredibly blessed to have built a fulfilling career from a true passion. What began as a small side project to support families quickly grew into a thriving, purpose-driven business. Our close-knit community here in Jacksonville has been the heart of that growth — nearly every connection and client has come through word of mouth, something I’ll always be deeply grateful for.
Nothing fills my heart more than those everyday moments — being stopped at the grocery store or the park with my kids and hearing, “Wait, are you that doula?” It’s a reminder that this work touches lives far beyond the birth space and that our community truly sees and values what I do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a birth doula who specializes in homebirth, autonomous birth, and supported motherhood. I’m known for my natural birth support and education, working with families all over — both in and out of hospital settings — to help them feel deeply educated, empowered, and confident through the sacred journey of becoming parents.
My heart is in teaching families about the power of autonomous birth and reaffirming the God-given design that allows women to birth their babies instinctively and undisturbed. I’m also passionate about educating on topics that may seem unconventional or even controversial — because true empowerment comes from understanding your options fully. My goal is to set families up for success long before birth day arrives. Knowledge is power, and informed families birth differently.
