Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Rager.
Hi Lauren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started creating this company about a year ago when I was in Greece with my family. I loved looking at all the different makeup brands and products, and it made me start thinking about what I could offer consumers that you don’t typically see on store shelves-inspiration, words of affirmation, and the holy word of God. I became inspired to create a cosmetics line adorned with Bible verses that would encourage and inspire women daily, and named it Corinth Beauty. I spent a long time finding the right manufacturer, who could provide clean ingredients that are vegan, cruelty free, and paraben free. I’m so proud of the products I’m now offering online at Corinth.beauty. The feedback I’ve received and the continuous growth has been so rewarding. There are currently 16 different glosses and each shade is associated with a different verse from the Bible. The verses are so varied and include verses about honor, kindness, anxiety, envy, and wisdom just to name a few. I want for women and especially young girls to be inspired that they are wonderfully made by God and meant for so much more than they are often told by society. There are long-lasting matte shades and high gloss colors with CBD and hyaluronic acid to moisturize and plump the lips. I love these products and the beautiful message I’m getting out. I’m so excited to see where this goes in the future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, but it’s been a fun ride so far! I probably spent about 6 months just perfecting the packaging and narrowing down verses. Also, I never thought I would build a website on my own, but I did! Before I launched the website my 8 year old son asked me, “Do you think anyone will buy them”. My response was “hopefully”.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been a Nurse Practitioner for over 15 years and have loved caring for patients. I currently work as an Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates Jax. I’m most proud of my family-my two boys ages 8 and 12, and husband.
I think what sets me apart from other people is not being afraid to try new things and go different directions in life. I think when God inspires you to do something you can’t ignore it. I’m super proud of my company, Corinth Beauty, and the beautiful products and messages I’m getting out to women.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think it’s been more grit and determination than luck. I thank God for the drive he gives me to keep pressing forward.
