Daily Inspiration: Meet Rod Valdes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rod Valdes.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I initially looked into sharpening as a hobby. The more I learned about it, the more I wanted to try and learn as much as I could. Once I felt I had learned well enough to start sharpening, I started to offer my services to friends and family and eventually started our small business offering my services in Jacksonville.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Obstacles: figuring out the best way to get our business known to everyone. Whether it be social media platforms, business cards, going “door to door” offering our services, having a website.

Challenges: learning about running and growing a small business.

The good thing is that everything is a work in progress and each goal that we’ve set, we have slowly accomplished. We continuously set new goals as we progress and have more customers.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
