Check Out Chrissy Benjamin Molly Berry’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrissy Benjamin Molly Berry.

Hi Chrissy Benjamin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Chrissy & Molly have been partners in crime for almost two decades! Fixtures in each other’s greatest adventures, from themed parties to theme parks and from roughing it in the wilderness for days to sipping Champagne at Michelin destination, they’ve done it all together.

But none of these experiences have been without their bestie, booze! “We don’t need to drink alcohol to enhance (or survive) these experiences, but we do choose to indulge because we enjoy it,” says Molly.

Over the years their pallets have changed, as has the industry. The evolution of craft breweries, craft cocktails, the science behind spirits, and drink trends such as Ready-to-Drink (RTD) and CBD-infused canned cocktails has been so intriguing to the Boozy Blondes. “We want to be a part of it – and try it all!” says Molly.

“I love to travel, preferably with a drink in my hand and my bestie by my side,” says Chrissy. “The podcast was just a natural progression of what we were already doing. I love that it gave us a platform to share our experiences globally.”

The podcast started with an idea to share their adventures with the world (or at least with whomever would listen!), providing resources for other booze travelers. It has evolved into helping promote boozy brands, breweries, bars and special events!

“When we travel, we look for other travelers’ recommendations before going right to the destination source, so the goal of the Boozy Blondes is to be that traveler to give advice, while offering a little ridiculousness for further entertainment value along the way.”

“Think of us as boozy travelers, here to guide you to libation destinations,” adds Chrissy.

For the most part, this podcast is window to the lives of the two best friends. They travel and bar hop for business and leisure. “Sharing it has been the icing on the cake,” Chrissy says. “I love that we have an audio diary of our journeys together,” adds Molly.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since starting the podcast, the Boozy Blondes have faced their share obstacles and challenges. “We work hard to keep consistency and value in what we do,” say Molly. “We both have careers and husbands who need attention too! Our biggest surprise is how much work the podcast is – from recording to editing to blogging to promoting to social media, there is a lot to juggle. But we love it – we love tackling this project together and being the Boozy Blondes!”

The Boozy Blondes alluded to all that goes on behind the scenes. “Like Molly said, there’s a lot more than just recording an episode. There was definitely a learning curve to figuring it all out and then figuring out how to make it work for us.”

Having technology available at their fingertips has made self-producing their podcast a reality, but the rapid advancement of a relatively new platforms has made keeping up with the ever-changing podcast industry challenging. “Our goal is to keep putting out valuable content and make it available to as many people as possible,” says Chrissy. “There’s definitely pressure to ‘do it all’ but we also know the importance of being true to ourselves and our intention. To make great memories, in great places, with great booze.”

The Boozy Blondes started during the pandemic. With extra time at home on their hands, Molly & Chrissy had time to batch lots of great content and ideas for more when travel became possible again. Post-pandemic they’re both happy to say they’re enjoying travel again, but with that comes more obstacles. “Sometimes we travel so much it’s hard to find time when we’re in the same place long enough to work on the podcast,” says Chrissy.

Different cities and time zones can create extra work, but the Boozy Blondes also know it also create the broad spectrum of great content they bring their podcast listeners, who they affectionately refer to as “lushes.”

“The podcast has been a fun tool that really lets us shine in different aspects than our respective careers,” says Chrissy. Though a writer by trade, Chrissy admits she enjoys trying her hand at other creative aspects such as creating the art and Instagram content as well as producing the audio tracks for the podcast. “It was fun to learn something new,” Chrissy adds in regard to editing the audio, “But I really love the blog. Molly does all the writing and research for that, which is a seriously incredible resource. that I refer back to often.”

Going into Season 4, the Boozy Blondes continue to work hard to develop more fun and valuable content for listeners and Instagram followers. “We’re a slow burn, growing slowly but steadily, increasing our reach around the world!” says Molly.

They’re both proud of their dedication to the podcast. It would be easy to let excuses get in the way, and slow their progress, but they’re devoted to creating new content and releasing it consistently.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The pandemic showed the Boozy Blondes how resourceful they are. They used the time to find creative ways to stay connected and have fun, while developing ideas for what would become a boozy traveling podcast.

“If you give us lemons, we’re going to make limoncello,” says Chrissy.

She credits the pandemic with changing her outlook. “With time to reflect on the truly important things in life, the idea for the podcast took shape,” adds Chrissy.

Given the opportunity the Boozy Blondes wanted to spend time seeing more of the world with family and friends. The podcast has become the vehicle in which they can do that. Getting to share their experienced with listeners is something they’re continually grateful for.
