Today we’d like to introduce you to Heidi Aderman.
Hi Heidi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I dreamed of being a rock star. My parents supported my passion, enrolling me in music lessons, choirs and plays, but I was often told that the music industry was too hard and that I should find a more practical path. Determined, I pursued radio and business, hoping to bring music to others. Yet, I quickly discovered that selling ads wasn’t fulfilling my true calling.
For years, I managed other people’s businesses, realizing that ignoring my passion was one of the hardest things I could do. At 27, I began applying the business knowledge I’d gained to my own life and band, but I still faced the challenge of not taking action despite knowing what needed to be done.
It was only when I discovered life coaching that I truly understood the power of empathy and the impact of limiting beliefs. I realized that self-criticism was keeping me stuck and that true progress came from kindness and awareness.
Over time, I developed mindfulness and resilience, and I recognized that the music industry needed these principles as much as I did. That’s why I became a coach: to guide music industry professionals to make their journey easier and more joyful by focusing on resilience, business, team, and technology processes, all while finding joy during all stages of the journey. I call it the Flow of Prosperity.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, my beliefs can be my own worst enemy and that created a lot of struggles.
My perception of my participation in the music industry was programmed that it must be hard, so any way that seemed easy was “too good to be true.” My taught perception made it hard to trust people to collaborate with because “it’s so hard to keep a band together” and “there is so much drama.” There was also a significant self judgment that I would “never be good enough,” and that still pops up today. This made progress really slow.
The difference between then and now is that I expect some of this self-sabotaging behavior to show up, and I interrupt that programming and choose another way. Now if something feels hard but it needs to be done, I change my perception to the other side by asking, “What if it was easy?” Rather than immediately dismissing all easy answers, I take the time to imagine all the scenarios. When it feels like there is no other option, there are usually many other ways you can turn the situation to your favor.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer and songwriter, best known for my band Mast, based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I call our sound “Doomspirational Metal” because the music holds both the heaviness of real emotion and the intention to shine hope into dark places. I write for the people who feel alone or stuck, because music has been that lifeline for me countless times. I process the darker side of my emotions through my art, and I’m most proud of our album Rise to the Top because it tells the story of my personal transformation and rise to a better position.
What sets me apart is the way I blend multiple forms of creativity into one unified identity instead of separating them into “work” and “life.” I don’t chase balance anymore. I integrate. Every creative skill, hobby, and collaboration is woven into the fabric of my brand, and that synergy fuels both my energy and my artistry so I can perform at my best.
This philosophy is also what I bring to the people I guide. I help other artists and creatives organize their time, build strategy, and design systems that give them both freedom and momentum so they can stand out, make a meaningful impact, and build a lasting legacy without burning out or shrinking themselves in the process.
