Brandi Aguilar shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Brandi, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Studying Musical Theatre Jazz Dance, ballet, and starting a rock band. I’ve written a few songs, I just need to find somewhere to get them recorded.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Brandi. I am an actress, voice actress, and like to make people laugh. I write my own skits. 2025 has been a great year for me, career-wise. I am enjoying every minute of it.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I think I originally was who I am right now. But when I was in like, middle school, I really wanted to fit in and be cool. So I bought Hollister clothes, American Eagle clothes…but I wasn’t preppy. I was always a weirdo. But I tried really hard to stuff in my weirdness. I think in high school I finally started feeling a little bit more comfortable being my weird self. College then I felt a little too comfortable being my weird self, much like today!
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
To stop and smell the flowers. To enjoy peace and the little things in life, as cliche as that sounds. Also, to not take life for granted, I am so happy to be alive and see another beautiful day. Many of my friends don’t get that privilege anymore.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes it is. I don’t like hiding who I am or any parts of who I am. I’m the real deal and I love letting my freak flag fly, baby!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What light inside you have you been dimming?
I would love to start a rock band or punk band or death metal band, but I am a little nervous to sing. I’m not the strongest singer but I don’t sound bad when I sing metal. I also want to do 80’s new wave styled music.
I also want to take ballet dancing classes and Musical Theatre Jazz dance classes, but I’ve been so busy!
