Good morning Blake, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One of the biggest misconceptions about “permanent jewelry” is that it involves piercing the skin, similar to a body piercing. In reality, there’s no piercing involved at all. We simply weld the jewelry closed while it’s on the body, creating a seamless, clasp-free piece that stays on until you choose to remove it. The term “permanent” can be a little misleading because it’s more about longevity and convenience than something irreversible, as the piece can always be easily cut off if needed.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As the owner of LETS GET ZAPPED, I bring over eight years of experience in the jewelry industry, with a deep commitment to quality and craftsmanship. I specialize in permanent jewelry and take pride in using professional grade equipment and precise techniques to ensure each piece is safely and securely welded.
What makes my brand truly special is the experience I create. Every client who steps into my studio is welcomed with a custom name wall designed just for their appointment. The moment when they see their name, their face lights up and it reminds me why I do what I do. They leave not just with a beautiful piece of jewelry, but with a meaningful memory.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding LETS GET ZAPPED, and working on some exciting new projects behind the scenes. It’s been an incredible journey to grow this brand from the ground up, and I can’t wait for what’s next.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Going into business for myself was one of the most defining moments. It showed me that we have so much more power than we often realize. We have the power to shape our lives, our communities, and the kind of world we want to live in. Building my permanent jewelry business from the ground up taught me that vision, creativity, and consistency can turn an idea into something real and meaningful. It shifted how I see the world, not as something that happens to us, but something we get to co-create
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
When I first started my business, I believed that if I poured everything I had into whatever I do, I would always succeed. After some hard failures, I realized that’s not always true. Some ideas simply won’t work no matter how much effort you put in and that’s okay. What changed for me was understanding that failure isn’t the end; it’s feedback. I learned that it’s not about how hard you fail, but how quickly and intentionally you can get back up, adjust, and keep moving forward. Those failures have been the building blocks of my success, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d say I care deeply about building a strong future for both my business and myself. Every choice I make, from how I take care of my health to how I grow my business, is about creating a solid foundation that will last.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. Everything I’ve done in my work life, I’ve poured my all into regardless of what praise I might receive. I believe that giving your best in every moment is what builds the strongest work ethic and skill set. For me, it’s never been just about the end result; it’s about the growth and lessons that come from the journey.
