Community Highlights: Meet Samantha Pierre Francois of Mademoiselle Hair Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Pierre Francois.

Hi Samantha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Samantha Pierre-Francois, and I have the honor of leading Mademoiselle Hair Salon as one of its founder and CEO. But beyond the title, I carry a mission — to serve others through beauty, connection, and purpose.

Mademoiselle Hair Salon was born not just from a passion for the beauty industry, but from a deeper love for people. What began as a dream to create a space where women feel seen and celebrated has blossomed into a business rooted in faith, elegance, and heartfelt transformation.

Our salon is more than a place to get your hair done — it’s a sanctuary where self-confidence is restored, and meaningful connections are made. From the start, we envisioned a space that reflected who we are and where we come from. That’s why we designed our interior to beautifully blend the warmth and vibrancy of Brazilian culture with the timeless elegance of French influence — a tribute to my roots and the inspiration behind the name Mademoiselle.

In Brazil, beauty is more than aesthetic — it’s emotional, communal, and alive. And in France, beauty is refined, chic, and intentional. At Mademoiselle, we bring these two worlds together to create a space that is both inviting and luxurious, soulful and sophisticated.

Our mission is to offer much more than services — we offer experiences. We aim to inspire confidence from the inside out and make every woman who walks through our doors feel cared for, empowered, and radiant.

I’m proud of how far we’ve come and excited about what’s ahead. My purpose is not just to lead a successful salon, but to build something meaningful — a place where culture, beauty, and love come together to touch lives, and where every transformation begins with connection.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been a challenge, but ever since we opened, it has truly been a blessing.

One of the biggest obstacles I faced was being an immigrant and choosing to build a business in a country that wasn’t my own. Stepping into the unknown — with a new language, new systems, and no guarantees — was one of the hardest but most rewarding decisions of my life.

Starting a company outside of my home country came with a lot of uncertainty. From navigating legal and business processes to understanding a completely new market, it required faith, determination, and a lot of knowledge and learning along the way. But with every challenge, came growth — and with every step forward, I knew it was all worth it.

What inspires me most is that through Mademoiselle Hair Salon, we’ve been able to share a little bit of Brazil and France with the community around us — two cultures so rich in beauty, warmth, and connection. And in return, we’ve embraced and fallen in love with so much of what American culture has to offer.

Today, I see those early struggles as part of the foundation of something greater — a space where cultures meet, confidence grows, and beauty is celebrated in every form. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been incredibly meaningful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Mademoiselle Hair Salon?
Mademoiselle Hair Salon is more than just a salon — it’s an experience designed with intention, culture, and care. We specialize in high-end beauty services with a strong focus on healthy hair, elegant transformations, and delivering a personalized experience that leaves every client feeling confident and cared for.

Our identity is deeply inspired by the richness of Brazilian warmth and the timeless elegance of French beauty. Every corner of our salon reflects that — from the ambiance to the personalized service we provide. What truly sets us apart is how much we think through every single detail for our clients. From a custom-crafted playlist that sets the mood in our space to the way we guide each step of the service, we strive to make every visit feel luxurious, intentional, and unforgettable.

We’re also proud to be at the forefront of innovation. We are constantly introducing new trends and advanced treatments to our salon, such as ozone hair therapy machines, head spa services, and exclusive home-care protocols, always staying ahead of the curve to give our clients the very best.

In addition to my passion for beauty, what sets me apart as the founder is my strong business background. I was raised in a family business, which taught me the values of discipline, vision, and commitment. I’ve had the privilege of opening and growing other successful ventures, and I bring that entrepreneurial mindset into everything I do with Mademoiselle.

At the heart of it all, Mademoiselle Hair Salon is about more than beauty — it’s about culture, transformation, excellence, and connection. We are proud to offer a space where women feel seen, celebrated, and empowered from the moment they walk in.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Jacksonville is the balance it offers. The weather is beautiful almost year-round, and the people here are kind, welcoming, and supportive — especially to small businesses like ours.

I also appreciate how Jacksonville gives you the best of both worlds: you can enjoy peaceful, quiet moments when you need calm and stillness, but you can also find vibrant, lively places full of energy and excitement when you’re in the mood for it. Whether it’s a relaxing beach day or a bustling weekend event, there’s something for everyone.

As for what I like least — maybe just how spread out everything can be sometimes, which makes you drive a little more than you’d like. But even that feels small compared to everything this city has to offer.
